Giants have replaced the Cubs as having the best winning percentage in the the NL, but Peavy is clearly an opportunity for the Sox. His ERA is over 5 and he has 8 QS out of 18 starts.

Last night the Orioles lost to the Yankees 2-1. Good pitching does indeed trump good hitting.

The Sox are starting a longish home stand, which means the rest of the month and all of August and September will include lots of road games. Lots. The Sox need to make the most of this homestand.

Peavy has pitcher better as of late, but the Sox offense should crush him.

I just want to see them start stringing together some hits. Most of their runs vs. the Yanks were on homers. Not complaining about that but I love seeing 4-5 hits in a row to put a lot of pressure on the other pitcher. Pitch count is not nearly as important as how many pitches does a guy have to make under stress.

Need a great home stand. They have a long road trip on the west coast after

Today starts a stretch of 43 games in 44 days, including the long west coast trip and 18 away games in August. It would be really nice to dominate on this home stand.

Go Sox!

This is going to be one hell of a tough series. San Fran losing 3 straight.... they will be on a mission now. Let's hope the Sox can keep up!

Brock with 5 homers up from 2 last year. The Dude is juicing. Haha

In his first 285 career games he hit 6 home runs. He has 5 in 42 this year lol.

Trying to remember didn't the Sox get off to a slow start offensively after the break last year as well?

I don't remember if it was specifically the offense, but after the all star break they went on a huge losing streak and that stretch basically ended the season. I think we lost like 8 in a row.

Porcello doing a nice job....he does throw strikes....even Price pussyfoots around the plate sometimes.....I hated Dice K..he was willing to loaded the bases to gain advantage, ugh
