Way to go Marco!

Now that we have a comfortable lead -- Wright for his third complete game?

Why not? Is there any risk of overexertion when you're only throwing 75 mph?

[EDIT: That's meant to be an actual question. I don't know the answer to it.]

There probably is, but not as much as a guy throwing 100. I think at 105 pitches you give Wright a chance to finish.

Another day, another bullpen-saving, low run performance from Stephen Wright. Only once has this guy given up more than 3 runs. W/L numbers are such a travesty sometimes. Anyone looking just at that would see 4-4 (about to be 5-4) and that does not at all indicate how valuable he's been.

Grandma took a fall, so just tuned in. Great win! Mookie's heating up alongside Papi etc. Wright is the new Dickey apparently. Better repetoire, location than Wakefield I was hearing on the radio.

What people don't understand about Wright is that he doesn't throw a knuckleball.

He throws two different knuckleballers. He has the ability to throw both the Wakeball and the Dickeyball. Just makes the darn thing all the harder to line up.

I hope your Grandmother is okay.

Postgame analysis: Apparently Ortiz has been giving Hernandez some friendly advice about how to think through the at bat.

She is! It's just a bruise, but as soon as you hear "grandma" and "fell" a cold sweat rolls down one's back! Thanks for your concern!

Holt is not a starting LF.....he needs to play the super sub role for this ball club. That will allow the Sox to carry an extra relief pitcher. I'm not convinced our starting rotation is solid. Our bats will cool off at some point.

Good 1st post.

Welcome.

Please give Grandma my regards. Mom too.

Reportedly he can vary velocity by 17 MPH which is huge.

Missed the game but damn looks like Wright had an awesome game. Solid win after that crap series against the Jays

Indeed. It ranks first at wRC+ --126.

At second? The Pirates with 9pts behind. It is simply insane.

Great bounceback by this team after brutal loss Saturday.

Remember when you would have been pleased with the Sox coming home at 3-2? You mentioned it would be a .600 percentage and you could live with that?

Well, after 50 games, we were 30-20 .... not bad, eh?

And now, 31-20 ...

AND then toss in an 87 mph fastball! 59 mph knuckle to 87 mph fb .... wooooowweeee

Last year I was thinking Wrights secondary stuff carries him past the "just good" status. He had a few outings last year where he couldn't locate the fastball and he got hit. I'm guestimating on this...... but I thought I noticed it last year.
