I did all my yard work yesterday. The pollen count was so high my sinuses are killing me today so I stayed in today and watched the game. I hate to say it, but I rarely find game threads that much fun.

So I was looking at MLB.com a little while ago, and noticed something interesting (though not important in the grand scheme of things). In fifteen games between 30 teams today, the Sox and Cardinals are the only teams to score more than 5 runs, on either side. This might change, but the last two games are 1-0 and 2-2 in the 8th inning, so probably not. In fact, today, the Sox scored more runs than any of the other games combined except for the Tigers-Rays and Mets-Brewers games, which equaled the nine runs the Sox scored.

I watched the game even though I was not on the game thread. Kelly looked great. He got a little out of sync that inning where he loaded the bases and got out of it with a great defensive play, a brain fart throwing home and a great defensive player by Hannigan making the put out. The only upsetting thing during the game was Bradley getting intentionally walked in his first plate appearance.

Why aren't the two young kids doing the yardwork?!

One was helping with his mini-tools and john deere tractor. The other was napping.

Everyone, quick! I need your help! Spudboy has been kidnapped by a British person who is obviously impersonating him online. Let's rescue him!

To the loo!

So much yardwork... Went to plant sale. Fixed up my shade garden. Lots of mowing and cleanup.

Afternoon games are tough to watch when you have two young kids.

Yardwork can be incredibly time-consuming.

Remy had a good day yesterday. First he was all over Uribe for not at least attempting the inning-ending double play - a mistake that led to 5 more Sox runs. Then he called for the grand slam by Mookie.

I enjoy everything except for mowing the lawn (allergies).

Is that JOba Chamberlain in there? The same guy who as a rookie Yankee twice threw behind Youk's head?

Joba - LOL

Might as well use this thread as a dump. Not many, it seems, were interested in the game.

I almost never watch a game live. With 2 kids, it's very difficult to have a 3 hour uninterrupted stretch. Therefore, I record the games and watch them in their entirety when I get the chance. Therefore, I usually cannot participate in the game threads during the games.

Not posting in a game thread does not equal not interested in the game.

It's ironic that JBJ is being intentionally walked when there were legitimate concerns about whether he would hit enough to even stick with the team. Great to see. I'm glad that he was able to get a hit in the game with all the walking he did.

It was a great game all around. Great pitching, great offense, great defense.

IMO, Remy is a very good analyst. He and OB are doing a great job. I still miss Orsillo though.

you can count on the red sox to slowly whittle away the underperformers. losing lyons in favor of much more tc and eck is probably something they intend to do once the opportunity arises. between tc and a little eckersley i do not see any need at all for lyons on non o'brien days and both of those two are better than lyons by a lot

...

just to kick the hornet's nest a bit who would be in favor of replacing lyons entirely... with schilling?

It appears to me that some of the NESN color commentators don't want to have a full schedule, travel to every game, and be away from home that much. Thus NESN has assembled a deep, diverse team to back up Remy and each brings his own unique personality and qualities to the broadcast. None of annoy me that much. I guess that I concentrate on the game and the announcers are background noise to me. I watch the pregame and sometimes the postgame shows and find them to be informative, entertaining, and offer great insight on the game.

I'm with you on this. Although I do listen to the TV guys and I enjoy most of them.
