It can't be nonsense if you don't understand it. Educate yourself on what's being talked about first, make moronic statements later.

it's your opinion. to me it's nonsense. is that better?

Just say "no mas" and give up the silly argument. ;)

which argument should i give up on?

- that price has been about as bad as clay thus far

- that it was a no brainer to pickup Clay's option

- that i expect my Ace to pitch better than my 1`year mid priced contract pitcher

- that if i give the ball to a pitcher for only 1 game it would be my "Ace"

I am a Red Sox, Lakers, Patriots fan who does not give a s*** about golf.

Also, I form my own opinions, condense my own thoughts and actually understand how the stats I cite work. Now, you can continue being a f***ing moron and indulging in personal attacks and stupid psychoanalysis attempts, or we can focus on the baseball aspect of the discussion. Focus on the subject, not me.

Also, there's no "hindsight" involved. I've been saying since the off-season that they needed another pitcher, and was fine with them picking up Buch's option then trading him. In fact, I have said numerous times they should have traded him instead of Miley, if possible.

show me an April that comes close to this one? now you are just repeating what you read off the interweb somewhere.

fister and hill. of course. again with the hindsight. let me guess you are a broncos fan, love the lightning and penguins, OKC and GSW are your boys. you used to be a big time Tiger Woods fan but not for about 4 years or so.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. Let me get it straight: Are you trying to say that Buchholz is as good as Price? Or has anything like the history he does? Everything UN? said is true. Price has had a history of pitching poorly early in the season. Maybe it's the colder weather, maybe he just takes some time to settle in, maybe he gets distracted until the summer off-season for new TV shows (did anyone watch the series finale of Castle? Disappointing.). Buchholz has neither the history of success or the established durability of Price. There's no reason to cast aspersions on someone's fandom whenever they disagree with you.

Oh and by the way: No one is a Lightning fan. Not just no one on this site, no human being currently living on this planet. It's dimly possible that through a quirky mistake, Cape Canaveral has been beaming Lightning games through space instead of equations and language tapes in order to seek out extra-terrestrial life, and making lightning fans out of some slimy, tentacled, ammonia-breathing monstrosities a few light-years from here, but that's about it.

That Clay is as valuable as Price -- if that is your inference.

his last 2 starts are very much encouraging on what we signed up for 7 years.

Even the bad starts - he was striking out a ton of guys, and his walks and hits were not all that bananas. 62 batters with RISP this season have had a .847 OPS, compared to .652 with bases empty, .800 with men on

His career OPS with bases empty, men on, RISP (.637, .662, .700 respectively) do not reflect a consistent issue with pitching with men on. So you bet this gets fixed, because his bases empty OPS against was still really good.

funny. i havent cursed at you or called you names. yet you say i am "focused on you". kettle this is pot you are black. the baseball aspect of the discussion is that thus far in 2016 David Price has had 5 good starts and 4 horrendous starts. kind of what i expect from a "clay" type pitcher.

This is a great troll effort by Slasher. He even sucked in the mod. I am out on this one. I am going to look for metrics that prove that Todd Benzinger > Yaz.

i havent ever said that. i have said that Price has looked like Clay at times this season.

They look nothing alike. One is left handed and the other is a righty.

point acquiesced. weird odd but true stat...most sets of twins have a righty and lefty as they "mirror" each other as babies.....maybe clay and price are twins.

I have known some mirror twins.

You are a very experienced troll. I bow to the power of your troll-fu.

I don't think he's intentionally trolling, I think he actually believes this. It doesn't matter though. Yes, Price was pitching badly at first, but he is already improving in leaps and bounds and looks to be on form soon, while Clay is getting worse and worse. I care very little about this argument, I just wanted to make it clear to both of them (that means you too, UN?) that you can have this argument without the personal attacks. It is, in fact, possible to tell someone you think they're wrong without calling them a moron or accusing them of being a Tampa Bay Lightning fan. I honestly don't know which of those two things are worse.

He got me because I am bored today. What is your excuse? LOL! ;)

I have to admit that it was a good troll. The mark of a good troll is that you can never pin them down on an argument, because they never really take a position on anything. kudos

he has had 4 starts with 5k or less. but he has had 3 games with 10+ ks to balance that out.

do i think price will be fine going forward? yes, i am very hopeful. i expect his ERA to finish up in the 3.3 range.

You are off your game.

On the subject of Buchholz not pitching well, does anyone know offhand the starters who will be free agents this offseason? I don't really pay attention to that stuff until after the postseason ends, so I don't have the names. Is there anyone who might be available at the deadline because their contract is up in a few months anyways?

come on 700. if you are talking about me. i have put my position in black and white throughout this thread.

that price has been about as bad as clay thus far

- that it was a no brainer to pickup Clay's option

- that i expect my Ace to pitch better than my 1`year mid priced contract pitcher

- that if i give the ball to a pitcher for only 1 game it would be my "Ace"

i now know that both you and UN wanted to pickup Clays option (which aligns exactly with me) but you both wanted to trade him. not sure to who or for what?

I'd like our new guys to be able to express opinions that we might not necessarily share without being accused of being trolls.
I said it was a good troll. No insult. read the thread again. He never takes any kind of position.
