Wouldn't the Carl Crawford tracker be Red Sox LF vs Carl Crawford?

i guess since we were talking about the yankees it would be the yankees LF vs CC. nothing that i am at all interested in personally.

I thought this was a current Red Sox vs former Red Sox tracker? If it's strictly a Yankees tracker, it should go in the Yankees forum.

Jackie has had a terrible month of August. He needs to snap out of his funk.

i think at one point he had 4 dingers in 6 games. and he has avoided the successive "0-fers" that had plagued him in past slumps. but his BA/OPS have fallen off a cliff in august....hopefully we see one of those epic JBj hot streaks very soon.....

I think Jackie is fine - he is a bit of a Mike Napoli offensively. So these slumps will happen, but he still walks enough to not be a zero.

With Young back JBJ can get some off days against tough lefties. I think the rest will do him some good as well. JBJ has done more then any of us could have hoped for. I'm not to worried about him. He probably is not a .300 hitter any way. He has had some big hits this season though.

JBJ is definitely not fine. Multiple strikeouts and weak ground balls to the right side. A year or two ago, this is what got him sent down. Time for the 'legendary' RS hitting coach to do his job. (By the way, he's had three back-to-back 0-fers this month, and is hitting .182, w/ 4HR, and only 2 doubles. That is again, far from 'fine'). Edited by jad

He has 4 HRs in his last 9 games started.

I wish every slumping Sox player would slump like that.

I'm not denying he's in a slump, but it's not quite as bad as it looks.

0 for the last three games. 2 hits for the last 7 games. 0-5 with 4 Ks last night. How is that not as bad as it looks?

he hit an absolute missile in one of his ab's last night. it's not like he is "lost" up there at the plate. right now, JBj is not our biggest offense worry.

2 Ks tonight, so far. 1 for 2 on Ks yesterday, 4 for 5 the night before. That's 7 in his last 9 AB. He needs serious help from coaches .... The RS do have coaches, don't they? (Edit: Make that 3 for 4 tonight, thus 8 for 10-- that's more or less my definition of "lost"). (Leon spared him from striking out with the bases loaded to end the game). (Edit: 2 for 3 tonight--so far, thus 10 for 13). Edited by jad
