Mike "Altuve acquired in midseason" Fiers (1-1, 6.48)

The Astros cannot contain our might. Let the baseball Gods bless us with good Buccholz and hot-as-a-blacksmith's-coal Mookie.

WIN!

Don't know which is more surprising: The fact that the Astros are 5-12, or that Clay is coming off a dominant outing.

Clay can pitch. When he his healthy he can pitch very well. The issue with him has never been performance; its can he stay healthy for a whole season.

Why'd they add an S to my title? The Sox are only playing one Altuve today. The Astros showed yesterday their SP and the rest of their lineup is not Altuve enough.

It's amazing how Buch can go on runs of making hitters look silly on K's/weak contact, but he cannot sustain it inning to inning yet alone start to start. Buchholz is the Dark Souls of pitchers: Extremely fun on its best parts, yet teeth-grindingly, hair-pullingly difficult to watch on his rough patches.

It's an old tale. This and his injury history have made most of us lose patience.

He's picking his way through it. Looks competent right now. Fiers should have given up way more than just one by now. Need to jump on him.

Ain't that the truth. He is what he is and I don't know why people keep expecting something different.

Because he has great stuff and has gone on unreal runs of dominance like he did in 2013?

Even in 2013 he didn't break the pattern. He had a great first half of the season then ended up on the DL for almost the entire second half.

The question people ask themselves is: "What happens if this year he doesn't jam a toenail, it strains his back and he actually pitches an entire season?" It's a fair question. s*** happens.
