It's unlikely, but there's still another half of baseball to be played. That's fine if you feel like they won't make the playoffs, but until the magic number is zero, let us continue to keep the faith.

True. I can feel a big run coming though. The key is to continue to win every series. A two game sweep of the Marlins sans Stanton is a must. The Cardinals have lost 6 series all year, and split three 4 game series with the Mets, Twins, and this past weekend against the Padres. See what gaining constant ground can do?

For the record, the Angels hold the 1st WC spot, and they are only a game ahead of the Twins/Orioles, who hold the 2nd WC spot. Having one WC wouldn't drastically change how we looked at ourselves, at least right now.

My point is how things are set up to be wide open now. If the season ended today, Baltimore and Minnesota would play off for the second wild card. With .524 winning pcts., those two teams are on pace for only 85 wins.

3 of those remaining games are against the Yankees (they're in first place in our division). If we sweep them, we could be even closer to first place. Stop being a Debbie Downer.
