I feel the same. He deserved the shut out but hey, he was dominant and won.

Good stuff!

I was at Fenway for his MLB debut in the first game of a Day/Night double header against the Angels in 2007. I remember the Buzz around him coming up. He won that day and went 5 or 6 innings. I remember that his changeup was tremendously deceptive and he got lots of swings and misses. I also remember watching him stretch out in the OF before the game and thinking that he looked like he was 11 years old and that he topped at at 135 lbs. LOL!! My hopes were sky high for him back then and they got highers after his next start which was a no-hitter. There has been a lot of water under the Buchholz bridge since then, but his talent has not been in question. Any questions have been around heart and health. It is a contract year, maybe he will have a big year, but it will be wasted on this team unless the FO decides to make some bold moves.

Buch looks good out there....... poised....... like a veteran.

Yes, he may be a injury away from a bad half of the season or no half of the season.

At least he only lost his head while up 6 runs in the 9th inning.

My favorite pitcher to watch was Pedro. My second favorite is Yu Darvish............ and when Buch is on, he is my third favorite.... ungodly stuff....

My favorites at their best - Koufax - Gibson- Clemons-Pedro (number 4 for me but the only one who gets the first name call)

Some we'll win, some we'll lose. Some of us will sing the blues (after a loss). But what mustn't we do? Don't stop believing! That was just playing on the radio, so I thought I'd make a pun out of it.

Starting to wonder if maybe they can turn this around, seeing some glimmer of hope lately. Still need better pitching though

At this point, I think we're fine. We've had a good offensive stretch in the last week. We've scored 14 runs in 2 games against the best team in the AL.

Pitching is still very bad. You can't win consistently with bad pitching.

What it comes down to now is that we've got two guys in the rotation with ERA's of 6. If Porcello could somehow turn it around and Masterson could be replaced we'd have a real shot.

It's been good enough for us to go 6-3 since last Friday. It would be nice for it to be as good as Buch was today, but that's just not going to happen.

There was an interview with Ferrell about Porcello......seems coaching staff asks him to stick with sinkers and he wants to be able to do up in the strike zone pitching... if this is true.....I can imagine Porcello's thought process...OK now I am going to try and thow my best hanging curve at .... Encarnasion and then Bautista and lets see what happens? WTF?? and why, oh why are they still sticking with Napoli ---less than 200 B.A. at the first base position?? Anyone else.....Nava maybe? One of the worst cases of the "If we pay them we play them" iI have seen. Grouse, grumble, argggjh

You see the Darvish game he pitched against the Sox last year.....????? Ortiz broke up a no hitter in the 9th I think.

When Darvish is on....... it's art......

Amazing to see how clay has turned his season around. I wanted this guy out of town in a hurry. It all started when he took a haircut and got a new look lol. Kudos to clay.

Oh yes. Hitting, pitching, but especially defense and baserunning. It's all coming together now.

If Panda can turrn his season around, and they move Hanley to 1B (for those who say he'd be learning a new position, 3B and 1B are extremely similar) while cutting Napoli. reinforcing the pitching might lead them somewhere.

These are the common sense moves. If Ramirez would move to first willingly, it just seems like the right thing to do. Does the organization have what it takes to make the moves?

I don't think they do. If there was a thought of making such a move, we would be hearing that Hanley was working out at first base. They are going to stubbornly stick to this failed LF experiment. He is taking forever just to be serviceable out there, because he has terrible OF instincts. It is like the Bard situation. Everyone could tell that he was flushing down the toilet. Bobby V knew it. The only two that didn't know we're Bard and Ben. Ben stuck stubbornly to the experiment until it was humiliating and embarrassing.

I could tell seeing him one day in person in Spring Training that he was going to have major problems. If I could see it (and I have progressive lenses), how could the coaches not see it, or did they see it and hoped for the best.
