My objection would be on behalf of Postseason Panda.

I don't follow your idea here Bell. I am speaking of watching all these players for many games. Not just the playoffs or WS.

Fat boy got hot in the playoffs but from what I have seen of the three players he blows goats in comparison.

I'm still waiting for Holt to be "exposed".

Everyone in baseball says the kid can rake except the experts at Talksox.

Go ahead and remind me of last year. Go ahead.

Did y'all see that the Kansas City Royals are projected to have 8 starters on this year's American League All-Star team?

That ain't good.

A WIN!!!!!

No thanks to Castillo.

NO! He does not suck! It's too early to make a call!!!

f*** that nonsense. The guy is unskilled and just not ready for MLB.

28 years old and a rookie that needs work. Okay. Good investment!

What the f*** did Ben see in him? Where was he playing and what were his stats?

From what I read back during the time before he was signed is that several teams were in on him. So there is the Sox defense, I guess.

The Sox paid a premium price for an unproved talent that was too old to be considered a prospect. He was slotted to be in the bigs almost instantly after not having played in about 1.5 years. Long ago I saw an interview where Ben said that most of what the Sox had seen of Castillo was in the World Baseball Classic. Lol.

I just don't see the logic in paying so much for an older player that has not played much and who is in need of learning new skills to play MLB ball. It was just dumb.

At least Moncada or whatever his name is will play several years of MiLB ball before he gets called up.

The Sox seem to be in on the Pet Rocks and Cabbage Patch Kid international FA. They should sign more guys like Tazawa and sign them to modest contracts or not sign them at all.

Glad it's not my money!

I was shocked when I saw his age - or what we believe to be his age. This is a totally unacceptable signing. I'd be willing to give benefit of the doubt if the kid was 21 or so.

I'm sure Castillo was a "so the Yankees don't get him" signing. How'd that work out with Dice-K?

The first few years of DiceK made up for the last few.

I'm on record here from the start of the season, saying Holt should be a starter until he proves he's not. It was ridiculous how much he sat through his hot streak at the start of the season. Maybe he really is just a role player - but a supersub is an excellent asset to have. I am really glad for him today.

But were even the first few worth $100 million?

Sure. It didn't hamstring the payroll at the time. It gave them a starter who helped them win a WS.
