Is anyone dissapointed with betts a lil? I know he has gotten hits but he is still hitting .223

 

no, he's warming up. He just got off to such a bad start that his average hasn't increased much yet. He was still hitting the ball well even when he wasn't getting hits.

Thank God they didn't trade the farm for Cole Hamels. He's aweful this season.

I do not see how things will improve dramatically from what we see now.

 

There are no silver bullets. This team does need two quality rotation arms and they just are not available now.

I was going to wait 30-40 games into the season to say these words but it seems clear to me that my projection of 3-4 in the division is likely going to happen.

 

I'll watch all of the games and hope for the best for my team but I am a realist. This team is a wrong accumulation of pieces.

I've been against getting him all along. Sox need to get younger quality arms. If they can.

I think the Red Sox need to DFA Craig and bring up Steven Wright for the rotation.

We do have players. But, they're too young. Owens is good and I like Eduardo. But, again, too young.

The Sox spent about $170. mil on two guys that have only a handful of xbh. But the Sox have sold the sizzle and most fans swallow that s*** in one gulp.

 

The Sox FO lucked out in a major way in 2013. But this team is effectively no better that the 2014 team which was worse than the 2013 team. This team just blows big f***ing donkey dicks.

 

 

I am just rooting for players at this point. If the Sox go on a tear I will be happy but suspicious anyway.

Wright had a deceent start last time out but Rodriguez is the one who has pitched consistently so far. I don't care if he is 21 or 31, his time may come soon if he continues to pitch well. A big if I know but he has quite an arm. i don't think they need another filler in Boston. It is getting close to the time where taking a shot with a young arm with real promise might be good for everybody. Owens goes today we will see how he does this time around. He has been pretty ordinary so far. For those of you who think age (as in 21) is a big factor, take a look at your starting outfield in 1975. Evans was the old man.

That's not my job. With a loaded farm system and a surplus of talented outfielders, it shouldn't be very hard to acquire an arm better than the ones we have.

Agreed. I was referring to the pitching, but failed to specify.

 

As for the hitting, I hope Hanley gets back soon. We need some big run production to win ocassionally while the pitching is stinking like this. Right now, we are running out a lineup with Napoli hitting under .200, and our catchers and Craig and Nava are all hitting below the Mendoza line. We need Hanley big time to produce some runs with Pedroia and Ortiz and Panda.

We aren't getting an arm right now. I want them to go as is through May. At that point, if Nava and Craig haven't turned it around, they should move on from them and bring up JBJ and Castillo.

 

For 2016, I want Hanley at 1b and an OF of JBJ, Castillo and Betts.

 

The best hope is for the starting pitching to right itself.
