Napoli is performing like the Sleep Apnea surgery didn't work. The first base job is on a platter for Allen Craig who has done nothing to warrant additional playing time. Instead of winning the job, he is playing himself off the roster.

To clarify, there may be other better options sitting in Pawtucket for the pitching staff. If Swihart is up, may as well bring up Rodriguez and Barnes. Move Kelly to the pen. Bring up Johnson when next starter hits DL.

So, what teams are already out of it and ready to deal QUALITY arms right now?

This is what I was asking "YOU"..

The Nats might be willing to move Jordan Zimmerman for a guy that can field in the IF. Their SS is a disaster.

Yup. It's real easy to say "get a good pitcher!".

Wright had a deceent start last time out but Rodriguez is the one who has pitched consistently so far. I don't care if he is 21 or 31, his time may come soon if he continues to pitch well. A big if I know but he has quite an arm. i don't think they need another filler in Boston. It is getting close to the time where taking a shot with a young arm with real promise might be good for everybody. Owens goes today we will see how he does this time around. He has been pretty ordinary so far. For those of you who think age (as in 21) is a big factor, take a look at your starting outfield in 1975. Evans was the old man.

Brian Johnson also has been doing very good until he got rocked last night.

I'm not saying right now at this moment. I'm saying that it needs to happen earlier in the season rather than later. I don't know who is/going to be available...like I said, its not my job to figure that out. I dont have the time to sit and research pointless information so I can swing my dick around on an internet forum.

Baseball is a streaky sport...who knows, we could just be in a rough patch. However, everyone here knows that this pitching staff is not championship material.

This offense currently is mediocre.

You know, actually with all the runs given to us at the beginning of the season through errors, our runs scored total shouldn't be as high as it is. Actually, our win loss record probably shouldn't be either.

Yea, they have been mediocre for sure.

What this team is struggling with, is getting guys home. The Red Sox are 8th in on-base percentage and 24th in runs scored. Most of the runs the Red Sox are getting are home-runs (8th in the league) and that's going to go down if our home-run leader, Hanley, is down for a while. It seems insane that they've spend all of this money in the offseason, around 170 million, and they're still having the same problem that we did last year.

I think, although I love Panda, they should have just gotten Hanley. They could have used the Panda money to help bring Lester back to where he belongs, Boston. Hanley could have done a fine job at thirdbase, where he is comfortable playing.

Many of us agree on this. They paid for the luxury and ignored their needs. This rotation would look a lot better if you replaced Buchholz with Shields or Lester.

This is where you and many others miss the point. They didn't skip on signing Shields et al because of money. They didn't sign him because they're reluctant to give long deals to pitchers on the wrong side of 30, and they haven't done so for half a decade. The Panda signing did not preclude them from signing a pitcher.
