I just can't see the Yankees going anywhere with this team. Their infield sucks, and their pitching looks very tentative. They have been lucky with Tanaka and Pineda--so far. This isn't a championship Yankee team.
Ells will be with them for 7 years. I am not going to close the door on them for the next 7 seasons.

3.5 games out in late April. BLOW IT ALL UP!

Okay, yeah, this game sucked, and having Ellsbury be such a big part of it is awful to watch, but it's nothing we haven't seen before. Tomorrow's a new game, let's win that.

Just another game they waited till the middle of the game to score. Much of the poor offense has a lot to do with the 1-2 table setters on this team carrying .200OBP. At least Pedroia has come around. Bogaerts' .400 OBP is being wasted down there, put him in front of Papi to see how he hits.

I agree with this. As someone who was rooting for the road team tonight, it was nice to have Sizemore coming up in front of the big hitters.

Salty sucked with the pitchers. You all bitched about him every f***ing game. Stop the revisionist history.

It would be amusing to bring up some of the choicest comments here about Salty from his Sox career. You could put together a roast of him that would go on for hundreds of pages.

RSFL, there wasn't a single poster making the argument that User stated. He's just ridiculous. Edited by a700hitter

Salty sucked, there's no denying that, but the gopheritis with AJ catching is concerning. Then again, it's clear he frames better and moves better behind the plate, so it's probably just a familiarity thing and will sort itself out.

In 21 games the Sox have scored a total of 2 runs in the first inning.

That's the pitcher's fault. AJ's too!

I wish I could have watche the game. Aside from two at bats, it looks like Tanaka has his way with the sox hitters. I was expecting a pitchers duel, not a blowout. I'll take it! Pineda on the bump tonight

Downright embarrassing. World Champions looking like chumps before the home crowd. And Victorino playing in Pawtucket instead of Fenway last night? What beancounter made that decision?

The tweets said last night they were going to keep Vic in Pawtucket and bring up a reliever. Saner heads prevailed this morning and Nava is getting optioned. Workman, one of their better BP guys, seems to have disappeared.

Ditto.

An infusion of intelligence and baseball knowledge would do this board some good.

Sox need a real GM like Lou Gorman! I liked him because he was old and wore his pants super high like me!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Red Sox fans are so spoiled after 2004. They expect a championship every single year. Think being a Red Sox fan is hard SoxSport, try being a Cubs fan.

Cubs fans don't give a flying f*** about winning. They just want to go to a day game, get drunk, sing take me out to the ballgame, and throw home run balls back onto the field.
