Not that I care either way about Jeter's sex life, but if you really must know....no, that isn't "classy", by the common definition of the word. Classy has, in our society, come to mean respectful, elegant, or well-mannered, and is applied almost exclusively to wealthy people who are not rude and obnoxious and are not known for being sexually agressive or vulgar. No one I know fits society's definition of classy, and neither does that behavior. Jeter is not a bad person by any means, but classy people don't give goodie bags to one-night stands. Classy people, by definition, don't have one-night stands that we know about, because they don't talk about them for fear of embarrassing the other person, and they certainly don't blow them off in a way that heavily implies that they never want to see them again. Again, I have no problem with the behavior, but the definition of it is "crass", or at the very least, "dismissive and unlikable". However, I know this argument of language interpretation and the nuances of society will fall on the deaf ears of someone who posts on a message board using chatspeak.

That's my next Yankee victim. I can't stand the guy and would like to see him duck a high hard one every time he comes to bat against us this season...and next and the next after that. Sure, I know Lucchino and Henry really screwed up the negotiations with him when we were trying to sign him, but he was going for the money all along and later said he had bitter feelings for the Red Sox for something that happened when he was drafted by them and didn't sign. Knock the son of a bitch down every chance we get. Make him eat dirt.

FINALLY I agree with everything you said!!! Put horseface on his ass.

And Sox fans can smile that we did not have to endure his goofy looking face and inept play all of these years.

YECH!

So, who becomes our most hated Yankee now? Arod excluded.

My money is on McCann.

Yeah, I have no doubt it's going to be him.

From a few highlights I've seen from him he annoys me. Even worse now that he's a Yankee

Ya he's a playboy but whatever more power to him. Anyone that has an issue with that is either jealous, old, or a bible thumper lol
I don't think YOTN is any of those things. LOL!

Like I said, I don't have a problem with it. And no, I am not jealous (I've been laid enough in my life to not let other people's success in that regard make me envious), I'm young, and I'm an atheist.
I have no problem with it either. He scores off the field at an admirable rate. I have been involved in quite a bit of sex and debauchery in my life, so I have no problem with it, but I would not have termed any of it as classy even if I thought to give away goodie bags. LOL!!!

If Ellsbury does really well he could easily become the most hated Yankee outside of Arod. Horseface and Fatassia are up there, but for me without some career resurgence, they are approaching that point of not being that big of a threat. It's a good question. After Arod it's all a pretty close race for most hated. Whomever is on a hot streak will probably garner the most hate from me :D

I'm going to focus all of my hatred on Brett Gardner. With all of the attention on A-Rod and Sabathia and everyone else, that little son of a bitch has had it too easy the last few years.

He is only signed for one more year. It all depends on if if you want to share the hate based on year or spread it around.

Well I'm a Christian and I am "old". I'm certainly not jealous of Jetter and his sexual exploits. I have better taste in women than he does and coincidentally, most of the women I have been with are better looking than the women he has been with.

Although he did lay pipe in Miriah Carey when she was young and attractive. Props for that!!

He was a mediocre defensive shortstop who had some pop and happened to play in New York. Naturally, anything that he has accomplished becomes greatly magnified in it's significance.

3300 hits is pretty good. But banging Carey was otherworldly back then.

Yes! I'm with you on that little s***! And no one likes Texiera. A-Rod will never play in the MLB again, so good and f*** him.

He has more of chance of being on the DL. He will NEVER be DFA'd.

Wasn't being serious about DFA'd, although when he's slashing .200/.250/.300, and playing awful defense at SS, they'll wish they could.

I completely forgot to say it after Mo and Andy retired.

And then there was one. The dynasty ends with Jeter.

What dynasty? The last New York dynasty was last century. They have only won one championship this century. The last time I looked you needed multiple championships in a short period of time to have a dynasty. Thus last century. I think he was smart because he sees the decline of the team and is getting out before the drought starts.

I am referring to the dynasty from last century. Jeter is the last remnant of that team, and the homegrown Yankee core that won several championships.

You talk real tough BEL and to be honest I like that kind of verbiage, but when I do it I know that talk can be very cheap. The way to make sure what you say happens is for us to get the drop on them and stay on top of them, out maneuver them, beat them head to head and make them smell our butts in the standings as they made us do for nine straight years between 1998 and 2006. We will never catch them in WS Titles in this century but we can narrow it down some more, but the team and organization must be pro-active and have no crisis of confidence that we seemed to get from 2009-2012.

I'm under 21 and without doing research I can tell you that during that time, the Yanks won in 96, 98, 99, and 00. Correct me if I'm missing any, obviously. Then they lost to ARI in 2001, and FLA/MIA in 2003. The WS in 2009 is obviously there as well.

And as my friend Pin can tell you that was a helluva accomplishment------five league titles and four WS Championships in five years. That's real success. We Red Sox fans might be pissed off seeing that but you have to give credit where credit is due. Today with three tiers of playoffs to make it all the way it is certainly much more difficult than it was when you simply had a WS and that was it. Believe me, I would give my eye tooth if we could duplicate such a record over a coming five year period. Maybe we could continue from what the Red Sox started last season, but we all know how hard that would be.

Wow. I have a pretty good memory to say the least (nearly photographic) and have always been a stat nut, especially when it comes to my teams and their rivals.

You're exactly right there, Fred. It would be nearly impossible today to win 4 WS in 5 years, especially coming out of today's AL East, where it is always at least a 4 team race. Even if you played in the AL Central like the Tigers, you would always have a tough time in the playoffs because you would probably end up facing the same perennial contenders. In recent years, that has been the Yankees and the Angels/Rangers, but the A's are getting up there. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that with all these playoff teams and Wild Cards, it's hard to win continuously. Think about what the Rays had to do this season. They played their final series in Toronto, flew to Dallas for game 163 the next night, then had a day off until flying to Cleveland for the WC game, and then went to Boston for the ALDS. A path like that will make it hard to ever win 4 in 5 years. Hats off to the Yanks for doing that, because even then it was hard to do.

Now we all know why now it is very very important to win your division unless you want to go the route Tampa Bay had to go through last season. They would have had to go five series to win it all. I don't think any team can do that, and that means we cannot afford to try and do that way. Win the AL East and at least the road is less bumpy.

However, we are not always going to have a tie breaking game like there was this season between the Rays and Rangers. Still important to avoid that WC game though.

BEL is right. 2000 was technically LAST century as there was no year zero. Centuries end on years with 00's and begin on the 01's.
