We just won the division, making the Yankees our bitches in the process, and won the World Series without facing a single elimination game.

The Yankees are still below us on the totem pole with our ass cheeks planted firmly on their face. Suggesting otherwise is just asinine.

Let's stay away from Napoli if he wants too much and let's stay away from Cano because signing him is just an awful f***ing idea for what he's asking. Signing free agents just to stick it to the Yankees is exactly how s*** like 2012 happens.

Calm your titties and let the Major League Executive of the Year do his job. Ben is wide awake and preparing to make the competition his bitch in 2014. Again.

How? How do we upgrade without sending away prospects for a solid replacement offensively for Ellsbury? The fact is the Yankees have gotten better and we have gotten worse. You can fight howitzers with spitballs. Who are we going to get to take up the offense lost with Ells? Bradley? Not next year, not the year after that and maybe never. As I said Kemp would cost us a bundle and from what I've heard the Dodgers don't want to trade him. So we put Vic in CF where he wears out and sign Beltran who the Yankees never wanted in the first place and fooled the hell out of just about all of you save a few of us. We need Cano. This would not be a Crawford signing. Offensively he would be a terrific No. hitter and allow Pedey to go back to the No. 2 hole.

Watch out. Get him upset and he'll threaten decapitation and urination! In which order is anyone's guess.

Where does Cano play?

Calm down fred. Like any of us are surprised about Ells going to the NYY.

And a I agree, the Red Sox MUST NOT and SHOULD NOT get Cano! For what?????? :D

f*** the NYY!!!!!

Well VA, if you thought Ells was going to the Yankees too that makes only three of us. How the hell could all the others here not see it. There has been ample proof from past dealings with that rotten MF outfit. Where we disagree is that I think Cano would now be a good fit for us. He could play first or third and be a solid No. 3 hitter in the lineup. Cherington must answer the Yankees with bombs for bombs. We are now weaker than last season while the yanks and Rays are stronger. It is hard to calm down right now. My BP must be going through the roof. Yes Ben did a magnificent job the past year and I am thrilled beyond words about our WS Win. Remember, I was there. BUT....a new season is coming in few months and so far we have let two o ther division teams take the lead. Ben has to start moving right now.

Lets wait and see how Ben responds

He doesn't need to respond. How is the NYY pitching? I agree with several posters who have pointed that out.

f*** the NYY and the part of our fan base who expect to win the WS every year. Kinda like NYY fans. Embarassing.

Holy s*** don't you see how stupid the contract the Yankees just gave Ellsbury is? Giving Cano 200 million would actually be stupider.

Sorry User, I don't see that at all. Cano is a first rate star and I know he can play in Boston because he has not only played in New York but he has hit the s*** out of the ball in Fenway Park. He is in no way anyway related to Carl crybaby Crawford. Just for the record, what do we do now? Who the hell have we signed that can make a difference for us next season? Reliever Badhop? Catcher and 37 year old AJ? How the hell do they compare with McCann and Ellsbury? We're standing still now when everyone is moving and soon it will be 2014 and as great as this season was I do not want to see a replay of 200-2012 again. Ben needs to make two big moves, and it is not for a friggin' relief pitcher or a utility infielder.

Ok fred. Whatever. I honestly believe you are overacting. Hang in there.

It's December 3rd. Calm down. Also, you wanna talk about rationalization? That's what you're doing when asking the Sox to give Cano an albatross contract because you're all mad that the Yanks signed Ellsbury.

Current NYY rotation:

Sabathia

Nova

Phelps

Pineda

Warren/Nuno

I am trembling in fear.

wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being

Sabathia

Kuroda

Nova

Tanaka

Here is the list of players the Yankees need to replace:

Alex Rodriguez

Andy Pettite

Curtis Granderson

Robinson Cano

Kuroda

Mariano Rivera

That's a s***-ton of talent to replace. The crazy part is that Ellsbury may not even outproduce the guy he is replacing in Granderson.

fred....NO ONE IS SURPRISED THAT ELLS SIGNED WITH THE NYY!!! NO ONE!!!!!

We don't need Cano.

VA, as a favor to you and my other colleagues on board I'm going to take a hiatus for the rest of the night and try and cool off. I don't think I've been this mad since I found out about that chicken and beer escapades in late 2011. All I can do is rant my head off and that does no one on this board besides me any good. Just for the record, you have absolutely no idea how much I hate and despise those MF Yankees. I hated them as a kid in New York and I hate them even worse now as a senior citizen and Red Sox partisan extremist. Have a nice evening and thanks for trying to calm me down. I'm also going to try and stay away from my wife too.

And all things considered, that's unlikely to be a very good rotation in 2013. Sabathia's declining, Kuroda is ancient and was awful to close out 2013, Tanaka will be adjusting to a new league, and NYS to boot, and the other two are meh.

Alright then. Please stay away from your dogs too. It's not their fault.

We don't need to go outside of the organization to replace most of our FA's.

Xander is our SS, the same Xander with eye-popping plate discipline who played out of his mind during the playoffs

JBJ takes over in CF: He's still inexperienced but he also has outstanding on base skills, far better than Ellsbury's, and also grades out as a good defensive center fielder.

1B- if Napoli won't come back for something reasonable we can always sign Corey Hart or give the job to Mike Carp.

C- We ride out AJ/Ross for a year and then hand the reigns to Vasquez/Swihart. Both of whom are really exciting prospects with major league skills.

You know what the best part about the above is? It's the fact that those options are very young, save for Hart/Carp, and not going to cost us the equivalent of an arm and a testicle.

And as much offense as the Yankees have, what they don't have is a pitching rotation and minor league depth.

We have an incredibly deep stable of good pitching, in both the majors and minors as well as buckets of young positional talent that could be solid, cheap contributors in the very near future.

Their SP sucks and they can only improve it by signing FAs because they have nothing in value to trade for any front line pitching.

Ellsbury could not find work with another club ... he had to sign with the Yankees. I curse him now.

After we win a Championship, our players who are about to become FA's should just wear Yankee hats during the post game celebration.

Who left after 2007? Youk and Okajima were well past their primes when they ended up with the Yanks.

Sox had a Pythagorean W-L of 100-62, Yankees were at 79-83. They still have some work to do to close the gap.

Wow ... interesting. Let's hope that Cano signs someplace else and the Sox sign Tanaka & Napoli.
