Well then, stop doing it. Anyone can and will get attacked for their views. It's human nature. And the PC crap has to go. Worry about your own damn self.

No one defended me when I was attacked. I dealt with it. Always have and always will.

Sure, it shouldn't be that way, but unfortunately it happens. I'm with Ted on this matter, if somebody is attacked and this poster has any fault, I will call it out. .

I never s*** on our players. I will s*** on management. I have never hidden the fact that i don't hold much fondness for the suits in baseball. Cherries gets a nice reprieve from my criticism for winning a championship. Job well-done.

Well the management and suits in the Red Sox organization has helped us win 3 WS in 10 years. Pretty f***ing awesome considering that pre 2004 we never expected s***.

It really truly sucks to be a Cubs fan.

Well, sometimes I criticize both when they suck hahaha, but I cheer up and recognize when they do a good job.

Yup, but kept us away from playoffs for 5 years.

It wasn't directed at you. I quoted a700.

I didn't think we'd make the play offs this year so I, like all of us was pleasantly surprised with another WS win. 3 in 10 years? Unreal.

But I didn't s*** on the FO or the players like many did. What a waste of time and energy that was.

I love this team. Always have and always will. No matter what.

You didn't think we'd make the playoffs?

This is grounds for an immediate ban. YOTN, kick her southern fried ass out of here!

I really expected championships in the mid and late 70's. They had some awesome talented teams in those years, but unfortunately there was no wild card.

Are you seriois with this bs? Bitching about missed playoffs when they have won 3 WS in a decade. An 86 year drought says GTFO.

Try watching the documentary "Catching Hell". After viewing it, you'll cease to have any sympathy for Cubs fans if you ever did before.

It's about Steve Bartman and how he was treated after the foul ball in Game 6 of the '03 NLCS.

I've been well. I think the FO has very little pressure to make moves this off season. They can ride the wave of euphoria of a World Championship. They just need to put out a competitive crew next season and not gut the roster. I am not a huge Napoli fan, but I can't ignore the fact that his teams always seem to be tough minded fighters and very competitive. I don't think that is an accident. I also don't think he should cost too much to sign considering his hip condition. I think our starting pitching is set. They will tinker around with the pen, get a backup catcher, get an OFer if Ellsbury walks.

IMO, They will use next year to valorize some young talent XB, JBJ, WM and RL giving them full time jobs. They probably call other young guys like Vasquez giving them some ABs, I don't know. If the things work out well, the future is set, otherwise I have heard that 2015 FA will be better. We'll see.

I didn't think they would make the postseason either, until about a month into the season.

The new ownership took over in 2002 correct?

In the seasons we've missed the playoffs;

2002: 92 wins

2006:86 wins (injury plagued)

2010: 88/89 wins (injury plagued

2011: 90 wins

2012: 69 wins (bobby v)

In 4 of the 5 years we've missed the playoffs under Henry/Werner/Lucchino, we've still been a good team. Hell, the 2010 and 2011 teams would've made the postseason if the 2nd wild card existed then.

I'm not bitching at anything. I'm just pointing out that we missed POs for some years even with high payroll teams mainly since our FO did a horrible job at many levels. On the other hand, Yup, 3 WS in 10 years is awesome.

Youk, I think BTR wants you to ban VA, then ban yourself. I would argue against it, as it's better to see the both of you bow your heads in shame for doubting the awesomeness otherwise known as the 2013 Boston Red Sox.

This would be acceptable.

He just has to bitch about people bitching even if they are not bitching. That is bitching once removed. LOL!!

We have a say here "No todo ha sido miel sobre hojuelas" not sure how to put it in English. But it more or less means that you have to recognize both sides of the coin. Good/Bad times. It was my point.

Yep, for example, just because Salty was a big contributor to our World Championship doesn't mean that he doesn't suck at throwing out base runners.

Exactly. LOL!

Hopefully Salty signs somewhere else.

Hey guys & gals,

I want to float an idea. Reportedly the Yankees have offered Cano a 7 year 168M contract. I say that we offer him a 8 year 200M contract. The more I look at Cano's body of work the more I appreciate his accomplishments. He can offer a lot of pop in our lineup as Papi realistically only has 1 or 2 productive seasons left.

Cano would have to agree to playing 1B. I do not see any reason why Cano could not play a GG caliber 1B. This move would strengthen the Sox and weaken the Yankees.

Imagine a Sox infield over the next 5-8 years of these players: Cano, Pedroia, Bogaerts, WMB/Cecchini, Hanigan/Vasquez/Swihart

Sox will be saving the following payroll in 2014:

Nap's - 13M

Drew - 10M - Bogaerts 500K = 9.5M

Ellsbury - 9M - JBJ 500K = 8.5

Total 2014 Savings = 31M

I think pitching is a wash with Hanrahan and Bailey and hopefully Dempster savings offset by Peavy & some bullpen help.

To sign Napoli may cost as much as 15 - 17M now and most likely for 3 years. The 2014 savings of 31M can grow to 35M depending on the cost of Napoli.

I believe the combined WAR of Cano & Bradley will equal or exceed the combined WAR of Ellsbury & Napoli over a 3-5 year period. Combined payroll of Napoli & Ellsbury can be 32-35M while combined payroll of JBJ & Cano would be 25.5M

I believe that the luxury tax increases by 11M in 2014 and probably around the same % amount each year after. So if the goal is to stay under the cap it can be done with a Cano signing. Cano is also very durable. He has averaged 160 games for the last 6 - 7 years.

2014 Lineup:

Victorino

Cano

Pedroia

Papi

Bogaerts

Nava

WMB

Hanigan

JBJ

The Sox can also transition Mookie Betts to the outfield ... probably LF as he looks like he can develop into a premier lead off hitter.

The best part of this deal is that the Sox would be sticking it to the Yankees. If anything the Sox will be increasing the cost of Cano to another club including the Yankees. For anyone in favor of a Napoli 45/3 deal I think Cano will be worthy upgrade for an extra 10M. Comments welcome.

While it seems like a pipe dream I love the idea. Plus Cano playing at 1B, would help to keep him healthy for most part of the contract.

Sorry, but complaining about missing the playoffs a few years IS bitching. They won the WS 3 times in a decade. Lighten up.
