Congrats to all you wicked optimistic people. It was a solid win, bereft of blunders. Thank god I watched at the bar, so the pain was reduced.

All I can hope for now is for the Wacha magic to last for 1 more game to push it to 7. It's been pretty thrilling. Win or lose .

On to Boston!

Average ticket price for game 6 is $1,860. Damn. Wonder what it is for the part of the bleachers behind the videoboard.

It's not his stuff, it's that he needs to throw first pitch strikes and work ahead in the count. In the other series, he did and his curveball was very effective. This series but for an inning or so he's worked behind, they've laid off the deuce on the corners and put good swings on it when he throws it over the middle half.

To me it looks like he's trying to be too fine, and falling behind. The first pitch doesn't need to be on the paint, most hitters will take a pitch that's not in their wheelhouse for a called strike one. Then, he's ahead, hitters get more anxious and his stuff looks better to the ump.

Breslow looked to me to be nibbling when he came on in Thursday's game. A lot of us in the park were seeing that, and to do that to the ninth batter was criminal. He needed to do what he had been doing all season---going after those guys and letting it all hang out. He also didn't seem to throw more than one curve during his outing. Perhaps he's gassed, perhaps it was just one bad outing until he had a second short and equally unsuccessful on Saturday night. Since the Cardinals have so much trouble hitting left handers you would think Bres would be a natural for us against them, but I guess this is baseball and many times nothing is as it seems.

That's because Breslow barely throws his curveballs. He's a 2-seamer, slider, changeup guy. The problem is that his slider is both flattening out and has less velocity than usual, making it look like a curveball with lazy break.

Totally untrue, the yankees are the only gay butt sex team in baseball.

Well, I have heard the the Cardinals are the NL's Yankees.

Unbelievable.

I believe that there were 2 jerk-offs on this board who picked the Cards while pretending to be Sox fans.

Some crazy ass ticket prices for Game 6. I understand people want to see them clinch at home, but really, how important is that? Enough to drop $1,500 on?

It hasent happened since 1918. It's a big deal and people are paying for it.

Honestly, If I had that kind of money I would go myself. Once in a lifetime thing.

I'd rather spend $1,500 on weed. And I don't even smoke. The game is on TV in the comfort of my own living room or bedroom. Can't beat that, aside from the fact that Comcast is a pretty aggressive pickpocket.

I have tickets to Game 7. I'm kind of conflicted about it. As sick as that'd be to see the Sox win it in person, I don't know if my heart could handle it. Plus there's the whole unfortunate part where the Cards could also win...

Really? Your landlord is standing in your living room offering to sell you a beer for $10?

Two things wrong with that. a. I'm underage, so he could be arrested if he were trying to and b. I don't live in an apartment or any other place that is rented.

@JennyDellNESN: David Ross catching Game 6. Farrell looking to have Gomes in LF, Victorino in RF. #RedSox

Wow, after hearing from Rosenthal all week, I completely forgot that Jenny even existed.

Good for Shane. He's been a welcome addition to the Sox this year. I hope he's good to go tomorrow. On another note, I'm avoiding the media at all costs till this series is over, after a tiny reprieve in the constant flow of Sox hate last night, the Cardinals are still the media's baby with all sorts of articles about how they will now win out and defeat the lowly evil Red Sox. I want to see a lot of these biased, crappy sports writers publicly eat s*** this week but they will treat it like they always do, ignore that they ever said anything.

Well here's a thought. Kiss off Game Seven because the Red Sox win in Six as we did against Detroit in the American League Champion Series. Then you're not conflicted at all, the Cards wouldn't win, your heart would be fine, and you would get a nice refund back on those tickets. How's that sound?

Pedroia with his third GG.

Pleased to see all of the posiition players who won fielding bible awards won gold gloves: Molina, Goldschmidt, Pedroia, Machado, Simmons, Gordon, Gomez, Parra in that order.

This means the process for the selection of GG winners is improving.
