Public opinion wants me to make this thread so hear I am.

Gentlemen (and VA), no one ever said this was going to be easy. Sweeping the cardinals was an unreasonable expectation. Here we are tied 1-1 and heading out on the road.

I know that some of you are negative thinkers, people prone to harping on the worst case scenario. I'm asking you to be strong. I'm asking you to believe. I understand your nervousness but you must know that this team does not share your feelings

These Red Sox do not panic and they do not worry. They have, most certainly, brushed aside the Game 2 loss and are ready to get back on track in St. Louis. Have the same confidence in them, members of Talksox, that they have in themselves.

Jake Peavy is ready to put us up 2-1 and bring us one step closer to the place we all so desperately want to be.

He is the Chief and he will not fail us.

Let us go forth and achieve victory!

It boggles my mind that against a team that struggles against left handed pitching, the Sox are sitting Doubront and pitching Peavey and a hurting Buchholz. Who's going to start if it goes to a game 7? Dempster?

St Louis's stats against lefties does seem lacking. However, the problem is that Doubront hasn't started since September.

The other problem is that Doubront had a stat line of 9.77 ERA 1.98 WHIP and .311 BAA in September.

Or, since Victorino hasn't been having the best at bats:

Ellsbury

Pedroia

Ortiz

Nava

Napoli

Victorino

Middlebrooks

Ross

Boegarts

The reason I might like Boegarts at the 9 slot is his batting eye, his willingness to take a pitch, take a walk, and extend innings. Ross, although having gotten less time, is batting .308 with 2 doubles...compared to Saltalamacchia's tepid .207 with 17 K's.

Yeah I believe Drew should sit out a game or two by now and return Bogaerts to his natural position. Ross probably need to hit 8th to maximizes putting Middlebrooks back on the field, otherwise he gets nothing close.

I really don't think Kelly is that good. Sox need to win this game.
Actually, he's VERY good, or maybe I should say WAS. His last 2 or 3 starts they have been hitting the s*** out of him. He may be gassed. But even if he does OK, he will be out after 5, maybe six.
