YOTN's mojo was 10-4 this season. BTR's mojo might make more sense in a game 7 type situation.

He's not part of RSFFL's "fantastic four" I don't think.

Mojo is more important than RSFFL's pride... his mojo barely broke .500 this year.

Let Salty start game 3 instead of punishing him for defense. Wouldn't he be better against a RHP than Ross, especially since we shouldn't need Ross's extra defense against a non-stealing team? Game 2 is probably going to be the only situation in this series where Ross's extra defense was really needed.
I must have missed something last night. I know that he mishandled the ball on the dbl steal, but Kosma had a huge break, and looked to have the base made easy. I know the throw from the outfield got away from him, but it WAS a terrible throw.

Furthermore, I would not be surprised if Salty was justifiably anxious at what was developing in front of his eyes on the bases. A red flag had to go up when Freese was replaced by the rabbit Kosma. Then kosma tipped his hand with a premature break for 3rd. I still don't know why he was not picked off there. At any rate, I would expect at that point the manager calls for a pitchout! How could he not know what was brewing?

One thing is for sure: The coaching staff did not view the Pirate/Card series very close. In one of the games with the same 2 guys, Kosma on 2nd and Descalso on 1st they pulled off that same dbl steal!

I'd go:

Ells

Pedey

Nava

Ortiz

Xander

Victorino

WMB

Ross

Peavy

I would not start Drew as Peavy is a flyball pitcher and his defense may be less valuable. Also, giving him a game off may let him clear his head. Salty isn't helping anyone right now and Ross could help calm Peavy down (something Salty failed to do last go around).

That's a good lineup for Game 3 MVP ... I doubt however that WMB will start but I home that he does.

Not surprised if Drew is the game 3 SS. If WMB was a lead pipe cinch to hit, then you maybe can afford to cut Drew out of that infield. But so far in this post season, so much momentum is being generated out of mistakes. Regular season momentum usually requires runs or at least a run and base runners etc etc. These teams are generating momentum out of an error. "We got an extra out...yea we got an extra out". For the team that made the error, the guy responsible feels like digging a hole and burying himself and his teammates drive themselves nuts trying to make a play that mitigates the mistake. Neither of those are terrific ideas. Drew and Pedey have made just a ridiculous amount of plays and while Peavy is not as much of a ground ball pitcher as some other guys are, I still expect to see Drew and Pedey getting a lotta' work.

Do you know that Drew is the second worst postseason hitter in Red Sox history, and their worst in 98 years?

Fun fact. I still want him playing SS though.

And his Bellhorn moments might be coming! :D

And enough of all these late games this postseason.

Sorry man, ain't happening.

The games are all one hour later for me here in the Atlantic time zone.

Incredible, we are tied 1-1 and the media has us dead in the water. f*** them all.

Sox lose one game: it's now the Cardinals' series to lose!

Huh?

If the Sox are down 3-1, you write that, not when it's 1-1. Mazz, Felger et al can go screw.

Look at ny schedule vs everyone else and you'll see why. My mojo isn't all that, but I come up clutch in big games. ;)

Edit: YOTN 10-4? Ha try 12-5 for a barely .500 record. Suckkk itttt!!

I'm in CT.

Right, you're in the Eastern zone. Game starts at 8:15 and ends around 12 for you, it starts at 9:15 and ends at 1 for me.

That's tough. You must hate the West Coast games.

12-5? Try 10-7. But, not really something worth arguing about... Just wanting to get the best mojo into these games :P

Hopefully Jake and the Sox have been preparing such that he does not have to be peeling off the ceiling before the start and hopefully Nieves is prepared to go out there and just remind Jake to breadth every few pitches if he looks like he is over-amped and all over the map again. Can't afford to lose his start to that sort of stuff today. Too much uncertainty around what is happening with Buch.

Also given the relative ranking of Kelly in the Cards rotation, the Sox may have to jump on him looking for runs early instead of looking for pitch count early. It is not like Kelly is a world beater. We might be better off going out to harm this guy early and get up on the Cards. That might also help smooth Jake out a bit.

I'm hearing Farrell has already said that Drew will start Game 3.

I don't know when Farrell is going to get his act together with regards to Drew. You saw him on TV and I saw him in person for three games and he looks absolutely inept and totally lost at the plate. We have two dead lack holes with the pitcher and him in the lineup. I don't think it's going to get any better and the other guys had better be able to carry him and the pitcher or we will be scuffling tonight. Of course, we need the Peavy we saw pitch against the Dodgers and not the one we saw get mangled by the Tigers. I'm convinced Farrell is totally wrong keeping Drew in the lineup.

It's not something my Red Sox fans colleagues want to hear Jacko but you cannot believe just how inept Drew has looked at the plate. I saw it with my own eyes three straight games. He is lost at the plate and he shows no sign of snapping out of it. He has become a sunk cost at the plate and in my opinion we have to go for offense in St. Louis. Five and four hits in the past two games is not going to get the job done.

Did Mazz and Felger really say that? Well Brennan had it right----f*** THEM BOTH!!!!!!

Jung, I'll tell you where I stand on this. If we go out there and take care of the Cardinals tonight, whether it's by one run or five, Mazz, Felger and the rest of the crew that has us dead in the water will change their tunes in a hurry. A win tonight is the way to get the momentum back in our corner.
