Well if you can force the opposing pitcher into the middle of the plate, you crush him there. Strategy does not work if you are swinging at pitchers pitches, be they balls or strikes.

And it's more than just pitch count. They're seeing more of each of his pitches, and getting a better feel for his sequence and location.

I don't really see the need for Koji to go for two. I like the idea of it, the feeling of security it gives me, but Game 2 seems like a bad time to start overworking your closer. Breslow has been, frankly, almost as reliable this postseason.
