This is our f***ing division. Now let's take the AL!

I'm with you all the way on this mvp, but I hope you will allow me the joy of just enjoying this AL East Division title for a couple of days before we all go on the warpath for our team again. We have as good a chance as anyone else to win the AL Title and I'm sure the team knows it.

It will be interesting to see Farrrell's bullpen rotation in the last week. I don't think Taz is a lock to be the 8th inning guy in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how Dempster gets used. He has experience as a closer. I winder is Farrell would consider using him in the 8th.

Woot!!!

So after the game, I went down and got front row seats for the celebration (right on the wall), high fives from the players, champagne sprayed on me by Lester. It. Was. AWESOME O CLOCK!!!!

That's great. I've never been to a clinching game. Very cool.

Enjoy it as long as you need to. You've always clamored for a division title and now you have one to relish.

Love the thread title.

With all due respect to mvp, I'm not sure I want the Yankees out. They suuuuuuuck. Finding ourselves serendipitously facing the Yanks in the postseason would be like finding a gold nugget in your McFries. That is to say, odd and disconcerting but highly profitable. There is no more Yankees mystique and we would beat them to a pulp the way we did in the regular season.

On the other hand, you're probably right. It'd be better all around if they just stay home and inject roids under their tongues (A-Rod), eat Bavarian creams (Sabathia and the whole bullpen), or whatever else they've got planned.

The team I want out of the playoffs is the O's. They play us tough every time and win more often than not, at least recently. I do not want to see them in October.

Good for you SFF. I was with you in spirit out here in California watching Koji get that last strikeout to win the division for the Red Sox....and their fans. Glad they won last night and I don't need to ask if you had a hell of a good time. Glad you did.

The job is only half done. I want the Yankees O-U-T.

Campfighter, I think if you polled everyone on this board you would get everyone to say the same thing you did. It's out of our hands now and they've already taken the Giants two straight, and with Pettitte pitching maybe his last game at YS and on Mariano Rivera Day at Yankee Stadium, it could be a sweep. If we want the Yankees home for the winter it is up to the Guardians, Royals, Rangers and Rays to win the majority of their remaining games. The Yanks have to leapfrog over those four teams to get in.

As I see it they really only have to get by the Rangers and the Guardians as of now. Teams are laying down like palm fronds in front of Jesus's mule now. Don't forget there are now 2 wildcard spots now so Selig can f*** up baseball even more.

f*** up baseball? The point of the second wildcard was to make the game more exciting for more teams down the stretch. How exciting are things now? Texas, Tampa, Cleveland, NYY, Kansas City and Baltimore are all still in the hunt. It is September 21st, and 9 of 15 teams are still very relevant.

Hope the Sox b-squad can get them to the best record in the AL. Probably don't need to rest guys too much as they have 4 off days after the regular season.

They also have two days off because of the Colorado trip. I would bet that the starting pitching gets an extra day or two, or is shuffled around a bit to get lined up, but I doubt we'll see guys like Webster or Wright starting.

I think it was 700 that said he thought he saw you hopping around down there. Had to have been a total gas.
