Part of the fun of baseball is the kinds of compromises organizations must make....the decisions they are forced to and how they play out. The Tigers pen is apparently not just bad....it is horrible....yet it seems to me that they decidedly opted to leave it as it was and take their chances. May well work out but Holy Cats....watching Leyland work this series and watching the result is ........interesting to say the least.

I'd say no, at least in my case, considering how many Tigers fans i have on FB. The fallout after game 1 was predictably. The fallout after this game is predictable as well, but with roles reversed.

Also another thing about Workman mopping up here ...

 

You figure that Farrell will go with 10 pitchers for the playoff roster. You have your Top 4 starters and Dempster moving into the swing spot. That leaves 5 relief spots. Brelow, Tazawa, Uehara are locks. Workman, Morales, Thornton are probably "competing" for 2 spots. I think Farrell will take the time here to get as many looks at all three guys as makes sense.

Thats a stretch though...Farrell has used Workman in some very tough spots...I am not convinced that Dempster could handle the relief spots that Farrell has tossed Workman into. I can see Morales competing with Thornton for one spot but I can't see the three of them competing for two spots.
