From the sounds of it, Lee would have cost them Bogaerts plus Bradley. They get Peavy for Iglesias as the headliner, its a no-brainer

Bing-freaking-GO. I don't love Peavy, but if this is essentially the deal, it means the Sox got a pretty good starting pitcher for Iglesias, which I never would have thought possible.

There has to be more than Iglesias. Peavy is probably the best pitcher on the block up to the deadline (Lee isn't really on the block if Amaro is asking for your top 4 prospects) and you get him for a BABIP anomaly, all glove no stick kid? Plus, you have Peavy for another 2 yrs. There has to be another guy involved. Maybe Owens?

They can absolutely afford his weak bat in that lineup. His defense will be a MASSIVE improvement over Peralta. Sucks he's going to a WS contender but it is what it is.

Owens is an untouchable from what I've heard. Doubt it.

I think that Iggy will be great in Detroit. You have to love his glove and his hustle. This is a great deal for Boston if it is true. Go Sox

You're forgetting the ChiSox are getting Garcia from the Tigers. A 20 HR, 80 RBI guy in the outfield that's been rated as one of the Tigers best prospects for a bit now. Combine that with a mid level prospect from the Sox, and maybe they send a low level guy back to Detroit, and it's a pretty decent deal all around.

I really don't like moving Iglesias. I liked the kid a lot and I'm not high on Peavy at all. I guess you kind of have to do it though.
