Salty could set up a little earlier to take the throw from the outfield instead of looking like he is standing on s street corner waiting for a bus.

Man what an ordeal. One more to go tomorrow. Easy to see why the Rays are winning so many three game series. Moore and Price take two and then Mr. AKA and Helickson are left to try to win one or two.

Everybody is going to beat the yanks going down the stretch. They will be fighting with the Jays for last.

We need clay and someone else. The Rays have a deep rotation.

Well we could have made a real move to get Matt Garza, a suggestion that was met with snickers and snotty remarks by a few characters on this board, but they might look at the box score of the Rangers-Yankees game tonight and see that he pitched a hell of a game and now has a 7-1 record with an ERA under 3.00. Yes, I think he was just what we needed and didn't get. Yeh, he spit, looked like a cow, was thoroughly unlikeable and all that s*** according to some, but you don't pitch with your face and spit hurts nothing if you play on natural grass and we still need a solid starter and there are hardly anymore out there, are there? Well Peavy, but some have some misgivings about him too. OK, let's give Webster a few more starts so we all can get sick to our stomachs.

Now you all know why I don't post on the game threads during games.

Drew, Iglesias, Salty at the bottom of the order is not working Cherries. Time to give Middlebrooks a second look.

He's been horrible in Pawtucket.

We are not getting Buch back maybe until September. I have concerns that we cannot hold onto first or second place until September.

Very legit concerns, especially since we could be out of first place tonight.

Everyone has talked about David Price has come off the DL in a blaze of glory to lift up the Rays to a WS contender.

He beat the Astros. Then the White Sox. Then the Astros again. Then he gave up 4 runs to the Blue Jays. I'm unimpressed. So far, the Rays are 0-2 when facing the Red Sox with Price on the mound. Tonight, it will be 0-3.

Oh well, full marks for the positivity, Pal.

I think Middlebrooks should have been brought up when Drew got hurt again. Bradley should be up, too, for defense and facing RHP. Iggy is a SS. He doesn't have enough offense to play 3B, especially with Drew not hitting.

Nolan Ryan, who knows more about pitching than anybody, now has 8 starters on the Rangers. The Red Sox have about half that many right now, plus minor league pitchers they are shuffling in to make starts. Their pitching has thinned out considerably with the injuries. They need another starter and another prime reliever to step in if those Japanese guys falter. I doubt they have the pitching depth to sustain a stretch run, unless they get more surprises from their prospects.

Who would you have dropped from the roster to make room for Bradley? Carp? Gomes? Nava?
