My first thought jumps to juicing. Is Davis that good or does he have "assistance"??

Hoping he's that good because it's awesome!

He has always had light tower power, he just never made good contact. He's making better contact and is now hitting the ball farther. It is certainly possible that the change is natural, it is also possible the guy is roiding out of his mind

I really want to believe the roid era is in the past, but I have my doubts. I hope Davis is legit, it would be nice to see a pure power hitter do well!

I'm loving this. I have family in the Baltimore/VA area, and I rooted for the O's all last year. As long as they stay away from the Sox, I will root for them. Crush Davis is really killing it. Can't wait to see him tomorrow.

The sad thing is, when a guy makes a quantum leap like this, you're always going to wonder about juice now. I sure hope he is clean.

Is it really a quantum leap tho? Like Jacko said he has always had this kind of power. What has changed is his approach at the plate and contact skills. Those are not the areas in hitting that get better with PED use. His power progression along his career hasn't spiked, he's just gotten more AB's. Dude could totally be juicing, that's just how it is in this new era of sports. But there's nothing that jumps out and makes me thing "he's on something".

He also a week or two back came out and took a stance against PED use. So if he is using he's got a huge set of balls to put himself up on that pedestal and be using.

Whatever, it's great to watch(albeit I wish it wasn't for a division rival) and I hope he breaks Bonds record as Bonds is a Giant douche(not because of PED use, he's just seems like a real douche).

For the record, Davis came out and said that he's been tested three times this year in an interview, passing all three times. Sources have confirmed this.

I highly doubt he'd have made it to this far in the season if he had been using steroids. He's probably peeing into a cup after every HR.

In his defense he was a power hitter throughout his career, even in Texas, but he had Mark Reynolds syndrome and now it looks like he's finally making contact.

Just for question sake, can't steroids improve your bat speed?

Are you sure you like the Sox? Is there anything you have to tell us about the Rays or Jays?

Chris Davis isn't using steroids. The real fact is that he is actually a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over metal endoskeleton.

Lay off. I have family down there, so I rooted for the O's once it became obvious that the Sox were going nowhere. I still watched the Sox games.

Yeah i was about to ask the same thing

I chalk it up to him being way young. I don't get it either. Loves Jetes and the O's??? Ok.....

I am young... I don't love the O's, I simply rooted for them during the second half of last season. Jeter is a role model to a lot of my friends (some Sox fans included), so I kind of developed the same feeling. Right now though, my favorite player is AJ Pollock. No reason to hate on him...

Davis' peripherals other than an inflated BABIP are pretty much in line with his career numbers. He's still striking out in nearly 30% of his at bats. What he's improved in massively is his outside-swing%. That can help explain a lot about his improvement.

Ok, that's cool. I don't hate Jetes or the O's. Except the O's have owned us for 3-4 seasons. Hate playing them.

Yes. I hate playing them too.
