s***, Lester's low pitch count actually worked against him tonight. If he had been at 104 pitches instead of 84 after 7, Farrell would have taken him out and he'd have a nice line of 7 innings 2 runs, and a Quality Start. Instead it's 7+ innings, 4 runs and no QS.

Very much so. That's one of the important things about watching the games. Gameday would make it look like he got hit hard today, when he really didn't.

As hot as the Jays are you have to take this outing by Lester as a positive in the right direction.

All the way. He resembled his former self tonight.

Gameday did indicate a slightly higher velocity from Lester which may also be encouraging, assuming he isn't hurt.

Let's hope that this is't a groin injury. They take a looong time to heal.

Dirty Water time! Nice start to an important series considering how quickly the Jays made up a lot of games in the standing in a short period of time. If the Jays had come in and run the table they would be within striking distance.

Good thing our bullpen was relatively untaxed as we have Webster and Doubront coming up in back to back games. If only Lester didn't get hurt as he might have saved one of our best relievers an inning of work.

I missed a good part of this game as I had to leave right after the Jays had scored their first two runs. Did Lester actually leave the game because of injury or was that something announced later on? Is he supposed to be OK?

At the start of this game, Lester was pitching with so much confidence. It is like night and day with him. It is like everything falls into place and he is just pitching instead of groping for his motion and everything else. It makes you wish that you could bottle up whatever it is that gives him that much confidence and just sprinkle it on him before each game.

It can't be his warm ups can it? I mean he has pitched long enough in the ML's to know that you can have a great session warming in the pen and get bombed when you start the game or have a terrible session warming, come in and pitch lights out.

Injury...hopefully minor. Limping a bit when he came out.

Uehara racks up the save!!

A terrific job by Koji....again. I really hope he can take the work. He might be just what we need as a closer and this is one player User and I totally agree about. I think me might have tried him earlier as the closer. The question is can he work two days in a row on numerous occasions.

Speaking of work, let's give Jon Lester some kudos tonight. He pitched a pretty damn good game. I did hope Farrell would have taken him out after seven because Jon did enough. We need him to really come around for us and tonight he did. Anyone hear how serious that hip injury is? We really need our rotation to come together and be in one piece the second half of he season which by the way starts tomorrow. Good game today. We looked like the real Red Sox.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
