In all seriousness though, Doubront has showed signs of life recently. Hughes wasn't bad in his last start against the Mets, but a few starts before that, he gave up 5 runs in the first to the poor Mariners offense.

 

And Doub's gave up 6 to the Twins.

No, but i know full well the way Red Sox-Yankees matchups work.

 

There's no "advantage" in these types of series. You don't underestimate them because of mystique or any dumb s*** like that. You don't because Sox-Yankees baseball is beast all by itself.

 

Even when one of the teams has a dog-s*** roster and is out of contention, the games are usually four hour nailbiters. That oughta tell you something.

Breslow was a good acquisition. He had a 2.70 ERA last year in 63 innings and his ERA this year is 1.42 in 12 innings.

I acknowledge this, especially after watching Sox-Yankees games last year. Some were four hour nail biters, some were one sided. Point is, I wasn't underestimating them. Teixiera and Youk come back tomorrow, so they could start winning at anytime. I was just acknowledging the great scheduling by Farrell to move Lester and Buchholz around to face the top 2 of the Yankees rotation.
