That would be great if we were talking about pitchers.

Honestly I feel like for this game, and many other Sox losses, that while we lose the game by 1-2 runs, we leave the game feeling like we lost by 10.

I had no clue the Sox had lost this game. I thought the game was nine innings long, not five.

Call the game over in every 5th inning ital!!!

What a great 9 innings it was UN!!!

Well f*** me sideways, we pulled it off. Nothing like leaving Gameday with it 5-1 in the 8th and coming back to see 5-4 with 'em loaded and then Ells coming through.

Downside is that my pants are all sticky now.

My point wasn't to call the game. My point was that the score was not necessarily reflective of what we had seen in the game, whereby in the Sox losses it felt like we lost by double digits when we only lost by 1-3 runs. While this game wasn't lost, it had the same feel as the other games the Sox lost whereby the score was closer than what the eye test showed.

I understand how it implied that I called the game, do to poor grammar choice when comparing this game to the other games (all of which the Sox lost) and I'm not surprised UN had a wise ass response, I was just too lazy to go into detail and explain the situation because I felt like it was a moot point.

The ump is going to get a lot of flack for this though a lot of questionable ball strike calls in that inning

I thought the walks to Gomes and Iggy were pretty clean. You are right though.... there will be a good deal of screaming in Cleveland about the Pedey walk that got it all started.

I factored that in however now the mess is on my computer. They really should make some kind of spermguard for a laptop.

Are the Sox the last team to have an interleague game this season?

No, Oakland and someone else haven't. Everyone is playing interleague these next four days.

The Blue Jays did the same thing while the Sox came back.

In a very similar fashion, one in the 8th and 4 in the 9th to win 6-5. Both games (when put together) made me lose money. Oh well, the Sox win is more important.

We get it, you're lazy.

If you look at the k zone on nesn there were a lot of pitches that were borderline

Well, we won, so what does it matter?

And we get it, you're a smart ass.

The ratio of smart to ass is still yet to be determined.

Ass always overpowers.

Tough spot for Perez but in retrospect he would have helped his team more if he had acknowledged the physical issues he was having on the mound. If Smith came in to an 0-0 count he might have had a better shot at Ells. As it was, he came in with no room for error...maybe one Ball would have been all the room for error he had.

Really focused effort by the Sox at the plate in the 9th.

That at bat by Iggy reminded me of the at bat of Nick Green in August of 09 against Fuentes and the Angels when he took a tough 3-2 strike pitch to take a walk and push across the tying run w 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Then I think it was Alex Gonzalez who blooped a pitch down the LF line for the game winner.

That was a good game. Today was better.
