Verlander has been pretty solid for the entire past month, plus they have Scherzer and Sanchez who have been lights out this year. Also Ellsbury is injured.

I didn't say you didn't have a chance, winning the WS is really a crap shoot, any team can have a 3 game slump. But on paper I think they clearly have the advantage and I predict they will reach the WS against the Dodgers.

Nonsense. Cabrera is injured, Verlander isn't the Verlander of old. Cling to this thread of hope if it helps you sleep, but don't be surprised if the Sox beat the Tigers or the Tigers or Sox never meet because they get eliminate by Oakland. Same thing could happen to the Sox, but they're the best team in baseball this year so it's unlikely. The only thing you said in your post that's not clear mindless dabble is the fact that the PO's are a crapshoot.

can't wait till you get stomped by Detroit ;)

"Oh, hey, nice to see you!" Said the coroner to the obligatory maggots who turn up in corpses. I am continually astounded at myself that I haven't kicked you off of this site. I'd take a million Jackos over you anyday. If this site was the Simpsons, you'd be Nelson. Forgotten about by the important people until you show up for your occasional annoying laugh, only to disappear again, and when you have a storyline of your own, it usually ends with you looking like a tool.

I genuinely apologize if you feel that way, I'll try to be more considerate in my posts from now on.

Even if the Sox lose to Detroit, that wouldn't happen until the ALCS. If we lock up HFA, we won't play them in the ALDS. I also think the A's can beat them to. Their pitching isn't as good as it has been in recent years, but overall it is still among the league's best. I'm thinking of a Sox-A's ALCS, going down to 7 games. Sox win of course.

There isn't a team this year that can beat us in a 5 or 7 game series, Sox have too much depth for that s***.

Correct. Only reason I had it going to 7 is because I wanted to see a close series. I don't stop watching football in October for nothing!

Except people love Nelson. That HA-ha is classic s***.

and it would still be a great season cos the Yankees are O-U-T

Though I do give them something approaching credit for hanging in the race until the last week with that motley crew of crap they fielded for most of the season.

I got in the car after work today just in time to catch the last two outs of the Yankees game on the radio. It's hilarious listening to Sterling's goofdouche call now. It was so lackluster, not to mention much shorter than usual. It was like listening to a guy trying to sound appreciative at a surprise 60th birthday party while staring at a pile of gag gifts.

I was at the game on Thursday. It was completely amazing, the best atmosphere I've seen since the old stadium. I feel bad that we booed Betances, but he didn't belong in that situation. The place exploded when Mo started warming up. When he came in, the place shook. And when Jete and Pettitte took him out, it got even louder. The funny thing is, the place was half empty until the 7th. Nobody have a s*** about the game, everyone was there for Mo. I'll never forget that game, it was awesome

Wow. Good for you. That will be something that you will probably never forget.

It was a shame that they sent a low-life liar and cheater like Pettitte to get one of the classiest and most respected players to set foot on the field. That should have been the job of the captain-- an equally upstanding respected life long Yankee. Frankly, Pettitte tainted the moment.

I disagree a700. Pettitte did cheat, but he was forthcoming with it and honest about it, so far as to testify against his best friend. Pettitte and and Mo spent way more time together than he and Jeter did, I guarantee, even with 4 yrs carved out of Pettitte's career.

How do we know he was completely honest? We don't.

I am rather sure he was honest, mostly because he testified and never received a government penalty. I know he cheated, but I highly doubt he was still cheating
I understand that you like the guy, but he got caught in several lies. After the Mitchell Report he gave one story. Before going to congress he remembered more and changed his story. He turned on his best friend in a cowardly manner to save his own skin. He stabbed him in the back using affidavits because he didn't want to look him in the eye. And in the end the government had todrop the case against Clemens, because Pettitte admitted that maybe he had "misremembered". They tainted the moment sending a hypocrite, cheater, liar to the mound. Just my opinion. I understand that Yankee fans would romanticize the moment. They have such fond memories of 1996-2000 and are willing to overlook the fact that with a few exceptions they were teams full of cheaters and scumbags.

Find me a team not full of cheaters and scumbags going back 20 yrs and I'll call you a liar. Every team had cheaters, it is just the culture.

I fixed your quote so it is accurate. I believe that almost every team had cheaters, but the Yankees also had a bunch of scumbags.

The Sox making the World Series in a year where the Yankees don't make the postseason at all is like finding a hundred-dollar bill tangled in the hair of the woman who is currently blowing you.

Awesome

I really, really hope the Cardinals win this series

I really really hope they don't. And I hope your depression from it lasts at least six months.
