Funny isn't it? At least Red Sox fans have accepted that Lester just isn't very good anymore, at least not consistently. He can flash his old self, but Yankees fans are now going through that same transition w CC

Yeah, I was given a really hard time for suggesting Sabathia was in decline. I was basically told that I was being a homer and had no argument. But Lester has similar rosy xFIP numbers and you don't see me or any other Red Sox fans suggesting he's just getting unlucky. Looks like I wasn't the one wearing rose colored glasses after all.

You absolutely could be right, and if you go back through my posts you won't find me objecting to that possibility. My contention is that other possibilities were either as likely or more likely. Believe me, as Yankees fan, watching CC last night was not fun and I am absolutely concerned about his future.

I did go back and read your posts, you suggested that nothing significant had changed about Sabathia's abilities or peripherals and he was getting unlucky with the home run ball - which you stated you believed would change with time. You also called me out for what you believed was a hypocritical argument with little to no evidence which is why I'm holding you accountable now.

Believing something to be true is not the same as insisting that it's a guarantee. I implicitly left the door open for you to be right, because that's the nature of making prognostications. As for holding me accountable, that's fine, but it's still probably premature to start declaring victory.

Let me know when you're willing to concede Sabathia's in decline.

Joe Nathan just choked against the MFY. Where have we seen that before

Wow. You can take Joe out of Minny, but you can't take the MFY choke out of Joe.

Gahhhh I f***ING HATE the Yankees.

Almost all good tonight though. We beat the Rays, the Orioles lost, and if the Yankees have to win it might as well be against the Rangers.

It's gonna keep the FO with the mindset that we should buy. I don't like it. You look at the haul the Cubs got for Garza and it makes you wonder what could be done with a guy like Hughes or Kuroda.

Girardi is doing too good of a job this year. Look at what Valentine did for us last year. He blew things up all by himself.

But his numbers are great. So much for numbers. Anyone who has been watching for about the last 8-10 years knowsthat he is money in the bank to choke against the skanks.

At this point, I don't really care if the Yankees win or lose because I don't really consider them a threat to us and every game they lose could potentially improve their draft position next year.

By the way, I did check Kuroda's contract and he does have a full no-trade clause. It seems unlikely the Yankees will be able to trade him, he's blocked trades two out of the last three years and gave reasons such as loyalty to the team and how he didn't think it was meaningful to win a pennant when you're only on the team for two months.

He had been locating, albeit with some subpar stuff. Now, his stuff is still subpar but his location is horrendous. Every pitch tonight is belt high, down the middle. I can accept the loss of velocity as a sign of decline. A complete and sudden loss of command tells me something else.

His velocity is declining, which is a sign of wear and tear/age.

I'm sure weighting 300 lbs is going to take it's toll the older he gets as well.

Whata great baseball organization is the Tampa Bay Rays. An example to follow.

What high priced reliever do they have?

They're done. They have been since Tex went down again. Cashman continues to get overruled as GM. The Steinbrenners are f***ing morons now. When Big Stein was in charge, money didn't matter. Now, money matters, but in a crunch they'll throw money at a problem then ask Cashman to clean it up. It might be better if the Steiny's just sell.

On a good note, Nova is really having a good season and seems to be fully healthy again. His stuff is sick and if he's locating and striking people out he could be ready to take the next step as a big time starter

Iortiz, if you suck for a decade and get 10 top 10 picks, you better be good or else your management team should be fired. Their GM has done a good job of taking that big talent and dealing it when it's value is at its highest and further replenishing the system. I can only imagine who they're gonna get for Price
