You do know that the Red Sox ERA this month is nearly 2 runs higher than the Yankees? So the whole out pitching thing isn't really happening at all. The numbers you are quoting are based upon an unsustainable April in which the sox had the highest BABIP and an unsustainably low ERA

The Red Sox pitching BABIP in April was .284, which iis very reasonable.

Know what the Yankees pitching BABIP has been in all of May? .240. But, hey, don't mention that. And the Yankees 85.4% LOB%? Yeah, that's also not sustainable.

Not to mention, he quoted xFIP, not ERA. xFIP is a much better indicator of future ERA than current ERA. It normalizes HR/FB, and takes into consideration BB and K.

And as a side note, the Sox, as a team, have a 33.3 WAR. The Yankees have a 29.5 WAR.

The Red Sox main problem right now is that they are hitting .176 with RISP in May.

The Red Sox have pitched better than the Yankees in May as well, the Yankees have just been a lot luckier.

Red Sox - 3.60 xFIP, .318 BABIP, 15.4 HR/FB

Yankees - 3.86 xFIP, .240 BABIP, 9.5 HR/FB

That .240 BABIP is the lowest of any MLB team this month. The Yankees have also stranded a league high 85.2% of baserunners.

And we win again. CC was good, not great. Our pen was dealing and Robertson escaped a tough jam with some luck. Mo just dominated. We did what we had to do with Felix and ate up a weaker pen. It was a nice win and a nice day to gain a game on the sox and the O's.

So the Yankees win the game started by Felix and lose the next 2 to the M's, in the first series with Grandy back. What else would you expect?

About time for Andy Pettitte to retire, BTW...these nagging injuries just won't quit.

Yeah, he should retire, sound good. Really? His back is tight, it will pass. He might miss a start or even need 15 days on the DL. I'd still take him

I'd prefer that he get a pilot's license.

Hafner is finally healthy and doesn't have the weight of an entire fan base on his shoulders. Sometimes having no expectations is all a player needs to be good again. BTW, anyone who complained about Cashman should retract their hatred of him. I've been critical, but I liked what he was doing until last trade deadline. Thus far, I love what he's done this yr
