Does anyone else have MLB.tv? I live in Florida, and MLB.tv is the best solution to watching NESN for the majority of the games for me. I do know that the game is going to be on both NESN and ESPN tomorrow. My question is, do you know if I can still pull up NESN on MLB.tv, or am I going to get stuck watching it on ESPN? I am going to be at work, so it is not a big deal, but I want to pull it up on my phone and watch it. I don't know much about the blackouts.

I am so ready. Although, maybe it's not a bad thing if ry lose; in '04 and '07 they lost, opening day.

The past is the past. I would love nothing more than for Jon Lester to throw a gem tomorrow on opening day. I am tired of all these slow starts to the season. A couple years ago we started out slow, and then we eventually turned things around. Last year we started out slow, and I kept telling myself we would turn things around, and we all know that didn't happen. Let's start out strong this season and get ahead early.

If its Nationally televised it will unfortunately be blacked out on MLB.tv.

I'm thinking they win tomorrow and a lot more this year than people are guessing they will.

That is what I was unsure about. I know it is nationally televised, but are nationally televised games always on NESN as well? They are offering the game on both NESN and ESPN. Either way, I can still catch it at work on ESPN. I just got rid of ESPN at home, so at least I can catch most of them on MLB.TV.

As well as basically every year since.

Download the watchESPN app if it is supported by your cable provider.

That's the way I feel and I only have to go back to the most recent past for feeling that way. We opened our home season (4th game) against the Yankees, got beaten good, then blew a nine run lead the next day and lost the series. A rainout on Sunday might have saved us a three game embarrassment. NO--this season we let the Yankee fans go back home to Westchester, New Jersey, Long Island or to their Bronx abodes and let them feel low and disappointed. We win tomorrow!!!!!!

Reposting this because I think this is a big deal:

Did anyone go to MLB.com today? I had no idea... but Buchholz and Lester had the lowest ERAs of any two starters this spring. We're not talking lowest two on a team, we're talking #1 in baseball and #2 in baseball. I understand it is just spring training, and small sample size, or whatever you want to say to make that accomplishment insignificant but it is a very good sign.

To be fair, anyone going home to New Jersey would likely be disappointed no matter what.

JBJ will be starting in LF tomorrow, Jacoby in CF, and I guess Victorino in RF.

In other words:

Ain't a goddamn thing that's gonna fall in for a hit.

You have something there. I didn't know the state had so many run down areas. The Eastern part looks like one big slag heap.

Yeah, they'll go over the wall instead.

Sox win, 5-2 tomorrow. Lets. Go.

Sounds good to me.

I'm gonna call it that either Napoli or Gomes takes Sabathia yard.

Glad to see the Game Thread section active again.

Tomorrow should be exciting and hopefully will be the first opportunity for a winning streak in 2013.

Why not get started on the right foot for a change?

Go Sox!

Our overall pitching staff looks much better right now than most of us would have thought it would...We could quite literally have a good enough group of arms to give us a chance to win more games than we thought. Sure, it could just have been that way for spring training and then completely do the opposite and be one of the worst in the AL-E, or even the AL, etc. Will be exciting to see how that pans out. No doubt.

This year's team is one of those teams who can ultimately play way better than projected on paper. This is comforting to me, considering the last few seasons we were mostly in the opposite boat, playing way worse than was projected on paper. If the team chemistry works out nicely, and the guys play hard and grind on a daily, it could make for a really exciting team that excites us more than embarrasses or upsets us. Who knows, just my opinion.

In the end, I don't take myself too seriously - My opinion is pretty ignorant, baseball is 'just baseball' in my life. I don't lose sleep over it or take it as serious as I used to. I realize for the most part that MLB players (pro athletes for the most part) take the game less serious than some of the hardcore fans do. I enjoy baseball and sports in general much more now with that view of it. It works for me lol.

Ultimately, I am excited that we don't have a Carl Crawford or some team-savior to look to this season. We just have a group of guys who can potentially do well if they all know and play their respective role and work as hard as they can every day.

The good news is that the NYY SHOULD be so terrible, that we can at least potentially have that as means of some sort of consolation comfort as a worst-case, lol!

Looking forward to enjoying the season with Talksox family.

This is what I hope from this year's team and the organization in general.

Where that translates in the standings is a complete mystery at this point.

If the team can be competitive on the field and get back to being a respected organization, I will feel a lot better about the future seasons and worry less about the final outcome of this particular season.

Just go out and play hard each day, keep a positive attitude, and see what happens.

Go Sox! If Lester and Buchholz are really as good as they have looked in Spring training games, then the sox will have one of the best pitching staffs in the ALE. I think eventually they will score enough runs, especially when Big Papi comes back hopefully in 4 weeks.
