Any idea if any of this will be televised? MLB Network or something? I'm sure ESPN wouldn't bother cause if it doesn't have LeBron or Tim Tebow involved, so they're not interested. Also who's your pick to win it this time around?

We get the Netherlands games here on a local station and whatever games they show on ESPN America. Really looking forward to seeing Bogaerts play.

I was really hoping to catch of few of their games too. Bogaerts and Profar is gonna be an insane infield. Hopefully MLBN airs a couple in the states

The real question we have to ask is.... How will the WBC affect the major league season in 2013? Here are some of the players who'll be representing AL East teams. The more I look at it, I start to wonder if this may hurt Toronto's chances of dominating the AL East as some expected.

Rays -- Ramos, Zobrist, Fernando Rodney, Jose Molina

Red Sox -- Bogaertz, Aceves, Victorino

Baltimore -- Adam Jones, Pedro Strop

Yankees -- Cano, Texeira, Melky Mesa

Jays -- R.A. Dickey, Reyes, Lawrie, Encarnacion, Arencibia

I am ignoring the WBC as if it didn't exist.

I mean, Japan won the first two of these farces and Dice-K is the two-time MVP.

It's meaningless tournament that disrupts spring training.

I like watching it for the "tournament" aspect of it. I'm glad most of the important Sox players aren't playing though.

The tournament has no point. The World's best players are not there so who cares.

What is Selig thinking with this thing? Either go the whole hog or forget it. Hyping it, then showing the games on MLBN is stupid. This should be done away with and just have the baseball World Cup every 4 years and market the crap out of that (although the timing might still mean a lot of top players miss it).

I kind of wish the big baseball countries took more pride in this tournament (DR, PR, USA, etc). I mean what other stage is there for countries to represent themselves now? The olympics is gone for baseball, and in all honesty it was never really taken too seriously. I don't know, I personally like the tournament itself and would like to see the Americans take it more seriously and with more pride

This guy Abreu for Cuba can flat rake. Sweet swing and looks like a lot of pop. The announcers said he hit 32 HR and knocked in 93 RBI in like 60 something games.

Despaigne has big boy power too.

Can't see it cuz only MLBN has it.

Every game I've heard about on MLBN thus far has involved me waking up at some ungodly hour or by the time I'm already out the door for the day.

I sort of agree that it's a silly tournament....there's really no good way to do a thing like this with the way baseball schedules work. Long season, short off season, spring training, long season again. No particularly good way to cram something like this into the schedule where we could actually plan on getting top players to participate.

None the less, I'm going to begin watching this weekend as I have all next week off and should be able to catch games whenever. It's still baseball, so I'll still watch I guess.

The game times have been crazy because the locations are spread out across the world. I think it will get better when al the teams come to the same region.

Yup, it's not like soccer where best players play in the tournament.

It is a good attempt to promote the game around the word, though IMO.

USA vs Mexico should be an interesting game.

They should hold the tournament right after the playoffs. It's only every 4 years, so it wouldn't be a "burden" to most top level players. It would also help if they didn't hold the final rounds on the other side of the world. It is our sport after all. I don't go complaining when Italy or Spain get the World Cup. See my point..

And it has absolutely done that. People here have really started to follow it, WBC makes the news and the papers. There are signs up and people have their colors on and are really following it here. For Americans I can see why it's not that big of a deal. But it is having a positive effect around the globe IMO.

It is always on around 1AM for most Americans.

Has ESPN announce it will cover the US team games? I need something to watch.

All the games are on MLB Network. It's too bad you don't have it. I thought it was as common as ESPN to be part of a cable or dish package.

Well technically ESPN does have it.. ESPN Deportes that is. I love how they throw that out there too on sportscenter sometimes, like most people who watch sportcenter have deportes or understand spanish

Aceves just s*** the bed for Mexico (2R-HR) against Italy and the game is tied 4-4 in the 4th.
