"Tied for last"

Wonderful. It will be June 2. If we were playing just .580 ball (=94 win season) we would be in first place. Dug ourselves a big hole.

The division is tough. Considering the injuries and the horrendous start, 3 gb is very pleasing, we might have a chance when all those injured guys come back.

I think its not so much that everyone is good, its that everyone is not very good. Bad year to have a mediocre team for us.

I think Punto was safe at first.

Yeah, looks like it. But that's the only hits Punto can get, I'd suggest getting Iglesias ready.

There aren't better teams in the Central. Aside from the Rangers and Angels, who else isn't mediocre to bad?

Wow there pumps...I don't think that is quite right. Since the Sox got over .500, the AL East is the only div in baseball with every team over .500. So I think it is both a good and a tough division.

The problem for the AL East teams is that the good Central and West teams will have weaker teams to beat up on and will post records accordingly. That will make it tough to come out of the East as a WC team. Winning the division is going to be a tall order.

Angels?

There is a lot of parity this year, no doubt. Its going to make for less fingernails for Red Sox fans.

You can't overcome a 12-19 start in 20 games. This team is 14-6 in their last 20 games. If they hold on tonight, they'll be 15-6, which is .714 baseball (116 wins over 162 games). They're playing at an extremely high level right now, especially with the injuries they've sustained this year.

Keep playing like this, and keep winning series, and they'll be just fine.

Danny Knobler tweeted earlier today he spoke with a scout who was recently watching the Red Sox. The scout said that if the Sox get healthy, they'll win the AL East.

3 games out of first after how horrible this season has been is fantastic IMO. When Ellsbury Ross, Crawford, Dice K, Pedroia all return the division is ours.

We need to trade adrian. This team cannot sustain the amounts of hardcore he exerts on a daily basis.

I heard he sucks and is a petulant child.

We won't keep playing .714 baseball. Problem is, our bad start takes away some room for other bad streaks later in the season. Thats what happened last year: they overcame one bad streak but could not overcome the second one.

The truly woeful teams in the AL are in the Central and West, teams like Royals and Twins. It will be much easier to come out of the West or Central as a WC than it will be to come out of the East. I don't think there will be more than one WC team coming out of the East if that.

Do you EVER have anything positive to say about the Red Sox ?

DiceK? Really?

This season will be successful if Beckett, Lester, Buchholz, Bard, and Doubront are effective, and if our pen keeps functioning well. If they fail, we aren't winning the division.
