Here's the deal...

 

If the Yankees get knocked out by anyone but the sox, Girardi keeps his job. If the Yankees win the WS, obviously, Girardi keeps his job. If Girardi has a meltdown vs the sox and the sox go on to win the WS, Girardi might get fired.
