Not to make excuses for these guys, it's a tie game right now. But there's something about playing here that doesn't agree with this team. Maybe it's the long flight, the laid back atmosphere, the late start times or all of the above but we should be a lot better than 14-19 against these guys the last six years in this park considering the teams they've had.

Pedroia bails him out. Through 2 innings, the Mariners have had 5 outs to work with with the bases loaded and have scored only 3 runs. That could be important later.

 

Hopefully this will come down to the other pitcher simply sucking less, as it did in Lackey's last start against Sabathia.

Fine, but I thought the knock on Lackey was that he only pitched well in the AL West. Now he struggles against even terrible AL West teams.

I don't want either pitching, but Tito would pitch Lackey and sit Wake (who might not even be put on a postseason roster).
