  1. @Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein Short, stocky RHP w/ mid-80s FB, touch 90, secondary pitches and command need work, could start for Yanks #ScoutingDarnellMcDonald
  2. Wakefield is worse than Burnett.
  3. Cory Lidle has a better shot at starting Game 2 of the ALDS than AJ Burnett.
  4. Mike Flannigan could pitch better than this.
  5. AJ Burnett gave up 6 extra base hits in a row, two of them home runs.
  6. Yankees/Baltimore was scoreless with one out in the bottom of the 2nd when Burnett gave up a home run, then a double, then a double, then a double, then a double, then a home run, then a single, then got a DP to get out of it. Baltimore up 6-0. I haven't seen anyone pitch this badly since Phil Hughes.
  7. Tazawa looks ready for the callup next week. He's currently finishing a rehab assignment at Pawtucket where he's gone 11.1 innings, allowing 2 runs, walking one and striking out 15. Bowden also looks good as a reliever. He has a 2.44 ERA, 1.14 WHIP with 61 strikeouts in 51.2 innings in that role at Pawtucket.
  8. I would not trade Ellsbury, we have the ability to resign him to a $20 million a year deal if we choose to do so in 2.5 years and elite position players are inherently more valuable than elite starting pitching. Besides, we could also sign a starter pitching via free agency and keep Ellsbury. I doubt many people here have seen Lavarnway catch much, I know I haven't. So I can't really tell you if he's good, bad or average. But I think a year of working with Gary Tuck can do wonders. If he still isn't coming around after that, then I'd change his position.
  9. Anyone else think the workload is catching up to Colon? He's now at 131 IP. He hasn't topped the 100 innings marks since 2005 and pitched in winter ball prior to this season to try to get a team to take notice of him.

  16. Varitek's terrible! *grumble grumble*
  17. Lavarnway's stance reminds me of Jason Bay.
  18. Reddick's all kinda strong.
  19. I know, tell me about it! Let's murder Tito.
  20. Last night would have been the first legitimate reason Girardi would have had to play a game under protest and he chose not to protest. What an idiot. He protests lineup mistakes and not informing the umpires a pitcher was hurt before bringing in a reliever but he doesn't do squat about a double that was ruled a home run.
  21. LET THE WHINING BEGIN!!! http://www.freeprintablebehaviorcharts.com/images/whining%20jpg.JPG
  22. If you ignore the signings of Ortiz, Mueller, Beltre, Millar, Arroyo, Timlin, etc. then yes, he only has a history of free agent failures.
