Hells to the yeah... On this night the Great White North mojo will be in effect, crushing all who dare defy it. Bedard is going to rape and pillage Minnesota to the tune of a dominating victory tonight, cementing another road series win and hopefully putting more ground between us and the Skanktastic 9 from New York.

It seems Bedard is Varitek's assigned pitcher (seeing as how Tito wants him to play roughly twice every five games), and as much as we hate it, it's almost a given by now that D-Mac is inserted into the lineup whenever we face a lefty (even though this logic is usually ridiculous because 9 times out of 10 a good hitter can hit regardless of the pitcher's handedness).

 

As far as Lowrie, the guy does need ABs. Let's not forget that he was our SS of the now and future before he got injured. He's going to need to see time at the plate if we want him back to that pre-injury hitting form. Plus, Youk already had a day off. But I do share your sentiments of riding the hot hitter, though.

Liriano has been hammered all season long by right handed hitting. He got shelled by the Halos the other week when they put out an all right-handed lineup. Hence the decision by the Sox to play all of those guys tonight.

 

The main issue I have is with Tek catching tonight over Salty, who's hitting the cover off the ball. Salty's a switch and can hit well from the right side, so I'd rather he be in the lineup instead.

I don't know if Varitek is Bedard's caddy for good, but I think it makes sense to let a new pitcher break in with his new team in the middle of the season with an experienced catcher.

Surprisingly, Tek hits .276/.350/.426 against LHP, so I don't mind him in there tonight. Salty hits .219/.275/.370 vs LHP. But then again, Tek is also 5 for his last 36, and Salty has a .937 OPS since the ASB. Tough call.

I'm not fan of Scutaro, but he has been batting...

 

Why not keep those guys who are on fire?... In this case, Salty, Scutato,and Reddick; these are the thinks that I hate from Francona!!

 

BTW... Reddick needs to play everyday and get used to it!! No matter if the pitcher is LH or RH...
