like I f***ing said swing at the first pitch not when you are down in the count o and 2 and try to pick a hook up off the ground.

It was in the zone, and last night they struggled primarily because they swing early and put pitcher's pitches into play. If they don't like the first pitch, they shouldn't swing. With less than two strikes, they should only swing if it's a pitch type and location they are looking for, ie one they can drive.

It did take Ortiz about a full season of games to get back to himself after his hand injury. Maybe Youkilis will take some time to get back to where he had been.

the pitch he struck out on was off the ground and he has received nothing but high breaking balls and decided he is going to take first pitch so they have decided we are going to get one over and he is slumping and needs to not fall down in the count.

It may have been near the ground when the catcher caught it, but Gameday uses a very accurate gauge to determine pitch location as it crosses the plate. It was a strike. Had he not swung, he would have been rung up.

EDIT: My point about hitters deciding to pull the trigger remains unchanged. It's hitting 101, don't swing if you don't have to unless it is a pitch you really like.

your the same guy that said that drew should have swung at that 3-2 high breaking ball that should have been called ball 4 and 9 times out of ten your looking fast ball in that situation.
