Figured it was best to start grouping the signings instead of giving each it's own thread.

The Braves re-signed utility man Eric Hinske to a one-year deal with an option, tweets David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Giants re-signed outfielder Pat Burrell to a one-year deal, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle (via Twitter). The contract is worth $1MM plus incentives, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, a concession on Burrell's part for the chance to play close to home.

I know SF is getting "Pat the Bat" dirt cheap. But you would have thought they be trying to upgrade there.

Adam Dunn to the White Sox:

The sides agreed to a four-year, $56MM deal, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today (on Twitter). The Nationals will obtain Chicago's 23rd overall pick in next year's draft for losing a Type A free agent after offering arbitration.

Adam Dunn to the White Sox:

Maybe that means Konerko is more available now? Wouldn't mind him on a 2-3 year deal. Plays 1B this season and takes over DH afterward for Ortiz. Haven't seen the Sox linked to him though.

This also has to bring the price down a bit on Crawford and Werth. Neither is worth double what Dunn is IMO.

Wait wait wait... the White Sox got Dunn? That definitely does make the Konerko situation interesting. From a quick glance, it looks like they'll have about 20 million-ish left over to replace two or three bullpen arms, their starting catcher, and their bench. Is Konerko even in their plans at this point, considering what he'd cost?

Great signing for the White Sox. I think this definitely means Konerko will be gone. The White Sox can't afford to sign both Dunn and Konerko unless they trade Buehrle (won't happen) or their payroll goes way up (also won't happen). I know they're also shopping Quentin. I doubt they'll have any takers.

Giants sign Tejada:

The Giants signed Miguel Tejada to a one-year contract, the team announced today. The deal is worth $6.5MM, including a $500K bonus, according to Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes (on Twitter).

Blue Jays close to deal with Pierzynski:

The Blue Jays are close to signing A.J. Pierzynski, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Even though John Buck signed with the Marlins and Miguel Olivo declined the team's offer of arbitration, the Blue Jays still have two capable catchers. Jose Molina will return in 2011 and J.P. Arencibia showed power in a late-season call-up and won Pacific Coast League MVP.

Hisanori Takahashi to Angels:

7:59pm: The Angels confirmed that they reached a two-year deal with Takahashi, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times.

Mariners re-sign Bedard:

The Mariners re-signed Erik Bedard to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, the team announced. The 31-year-old left-hander did not pitch in the Majors in 2010 and has had season-ending shoulder surgery in each of the last two seasons.

Ken Rosenthal

Sources: Pierzynski back with #White Sox. Hearing deal is two years, $8 million, though that is unconfirmed. #MLB #BlueJays

Makes it even more likely that Konerko will be available. Classic pull hitters are made for Fenway. A 2-year deal wouldn't be a bad idea.

The Cardinals have signed Lance Berkman to a one-year deal, the club has announced (via Twitter). Berkman will earn $8MM according to Jon Heyman of SI (via Twitter). The former Houston Astro will be placed in left field with Matt Holliday being moved to right field.

Kind of surprised with this one.

What a terrible defensive OF.

The money Werth got is absurd, I wanted the Sox to get him, but not for that much money. But then again, if the Nats want to get a player like Werth they almost have no choice but to overpay.

One GM, upon hearing the length of Werth's contract, told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports it was "absolutely bat---- crazy."

CBS Sports' Danny Knobler says one American League GM "nearly fell over when I told him the terms

Best reactions yet. This deal is so bad.

Cubs sign Carlos Pena to 1 year deal worth $10 million.

White Sox re-sign Konerko for 3 years at $37.5 million.
