No point' date=' just that he's obviously a capable pitcher.[/quote']

We've already established that.

That was not your point.

Career 4.23 ERA against Boston with a 1.39 WHIP and a .786 OPS against and 11 HR's in 11 games.

Your point?

Holy small sample size, Batman!

In the Yankees section? LOL

Read the url again, and tell me what the site's purpose is.

Don't BS. It's blatant. When you post something like that, there's really only one intent. Allow your sack to drop and own up to your behavior.

God you are sensitive. I didn't say a thing. I posted a link to a video. I was looking at videos on MLB.com and this one came up. I think you need a new tampon.

I'm not sensitive, but I have a low tolerance for ********. You are trolling by posting that arbitrarily with no discussion included with it, and you don't have enough sack to admit it.

In the NL East. He'll be hard-pressed to replicate that this year. As king as he keeps the ERA under 4 and pitches at least 200 innings I'll be somewhat satisfied though.

Yeah, pitching games in Citi Field and Merchant Stadium (whatever the hell they call that South Florida place) or pitching against the Nationals is awesome. I'll give him credit though for pitching in the Phillies division.

I liked the deal until I saw Vizcaino. That could come back to bite us. I like the fact that Vazquez is more of a grown up pitcher this time around. He relied to much on his changeup in 2004 and rarely used his slider now he uses his slider more than any of his off speed stuff. In a contract year, I'd put him right below the AJ/Lackey/etc types and will happily take the two picks for him.

Really?

His AL numbers reflect success nowhere near either AJ or Lackey. Even if you account for his fantastic K rate.

I love vagrant talent. It's essential to type and have on your baseball team. CASH 4 Prez and CASHMONEEZ is Gawd!!!!!!!!!!

I expect CC' date=' AJ, Vasquez and Joba to put K/9 of 8+, that's sick.[/quote']

did you copy that from Mike Axisa's twitter? the guy from River Ave Blues blog...

BTW, How many of the 9 innings would Joba even last through?

Not a move to brag about for the Yankees. Sure, they do get a 4.52 ERA pitcher in the AL, but they gave up a lot of talent to do so. Couldn't they just have signed a younger pitcher in Jon Garland (4.47 AL ERA)? Unless they think he can duplicate the numbers of 2009, they gave up a lot of talent in this trade for a #4 starter who has had his struggles in the past with the Yankees and in the American League.

Or they think he can pitch like he did in 2006, 2007, and 2008...

Anything resembling any of his years on the White Sox and it's a good move for the Yankees. Specially considering someone's going to sign him when/if the Yanks offer him arbitration.

He had one good year in the American League in which he had an ERA under 4.50. Give guys up a ton of home runs but to his credit they don't hurt him a lot b/c he K's a lot of hitters and his WHIP is good. He is an inninngs eater, but he isn't John Lackey or anything remotely near a top of the staff guy. He's a 4 for the Yankees, which is were he should be, but he won't post an ERA under 5 this year, I can call that now.

This is actually a good post. Garland could have definitely got the job done and wouldn't and have cost any prospects. Only money. And we all know the Yankees have no problem spending money. He's doesn't have Vazquez's stuff or upside, but he's an innings eater with a good sinker. A dependable guy to have at the back end of a rotation.

You're absolutely right. Although it's being written everywhere that Vazquez is a counter move to Lackey. The talent levels between the two are obviously different.

He won't put up Atlanta numbers. No chance. He's going to a superior division, with three major hitter's ballparks, and of course 81 of those games being at Yankee Stadium, arguably THE hitter's ballpark. He definitely won't be having a repeat of 2009, but I'd guess he isn't as bad as 2008. He's a guy who eats a lot of innings, and gives good strikeout rates, but whether it was worth a bunch of prospects, I don't know.
