Unbelievable night. It started off with me bringing the wrong ticket to the game and it ended with our championship. It's the first time I saw a World Series clincher for the Yankees at home.

Hard to argue with success. However considering how effective Hughes and Melky were in the post-season he still should have made the deal.

 

The real test will come this off-season. The Yankees will have tough questions on a starter as well as what to do with Damon and Matsui.

The Phillies were awful. Aside from Lee in game 1 and Chase Utley, they played like it was a regular season series.

 

I hate the NYY but their win wasn't as bad as I thought. I wasn't ready for it, wanted their fans to suffer a little longer, but they were obviously the best team by far. Congrats to the NYY fans who aren't obnoxious, so congrats to about a handful of people out there. Congrats to Matsui who continues to own Pedro, a well deserved WS MVP award. I've always liked him.

 

Nothing will ever top 2004.

Matsui, Damon, and Pettitte cost about 36 million this year.

 

Personally, I like the versatility of having both Matsui and Damon. Injuries are a part of the game, and you can mix and match. Pettitte showed he is a big game pitcher again.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing Lackey come in. Interesting off-season, that's for sure.

I don't know...they outbid the Braves by 2 million over five years for AJ.

 

They blew out the competition for CC. Given. He was the biggest need.

 

Don't kid yourselves about Tex. We got him because you f***ed up.

 

Keep in mind, the Yankees payroll was HIGHER in 2005 and 2008 than it is now. Next year it will come down a bit as well as we lose Damon, Matsui, Nady, and Pettitte's contracts.
