Pedro is an infinitely better idea than Hamels. Who are they gonna pitch? Happ?

Pedro is a good idea.

The Yankees don't fare well against strong lefties, and Happ is more than capable of dominating, as is Hamels, and definitely as is Lee. Hamels needs to really step up, and if he does, the Yanks will go own. Otherwise, Cliff Lee can't carry them

So ' date=' who's the better option? and dont say Hamels because he's been pretty awfull[/quote']

Hamels.

He may have "been awful" but you play to the stadium.

This.

I'm also optimistic that the Pedro who pitched against the Dodgers won't show up against the Yankees. In the cold weather in the first round, they bypassed him for Happ. Then they took advantage of playing in LA to pitch him in warm weather. They won't have that luxury in the World Series. If the Yankees offense has indeed stepped it up starting in game 4 of the ALCS, and Pedro if doesn't miss bats (he only had three Ks in his start against the Dodgers), he might really get hit around.

I understand this is a Red Sox board, and the love for Pedro is going to be through the roof, but please try to remember that we are not talking about the 2000 version of Pedro. As a Yankee fan, he is one of my favorite non-Yankees of all time, but he's not the same guy.

Ugh' date=' Joe West is on the umpiring crew. I bet he still thinks Cano intentionally interfered with the throw to first.[/quote']

So you'd rather have CB Bucknor?

Haha no, but West, in my opinion, is the kind of umpire who likes to make himself the show. He just loves to step in and make the huge, game changing call. Like he did against the Yankees in 2005.

Joe West is the perfect man for this WS.

Excellent choice.

I just hope that the Yankees lose, because I'm a huge Red Sox fan. I know that the Red Sox aren't in it this year, but I'll just be happy that the Yankees' opponent emerges victorious.

Lol, yeah. I don't know who is going to be hurt by it, but West is probably going to make at least one enormous and controversial call at some point during the series. Whatever, can't worry about those things.

I did, and I understand that. But I also think, against the Yankees' lineup, in NYS, in completely different weather, we're not going to see close to the same Pedro.

I hope Pedro does great but Im gonna go-ahead and predict 6inning 3ER and 4Ks, thats a pretty solid outing but not amazing, Im hoping its more like 7 2/3 1ER and 9Ks but I seriously doubt that.

I haven't missed a home playoff game in seven years.

That's awesome. I'm not sure if I've ever asked you this, but what are your favorite games you've seen in person?

Mine are Game 4 of the 1999 World Series and Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS.

Yankees are the favorite 2:1, I think they will win it in 5 based on

1. yankees no. 2 and no. 3 starters are better then phillies 2 and 3

2. better bullpen / mariano rivera

3. home field advantage

4. a-rod, he seems really locked in this post season, no player in mlb history has had the number of home runs while trailing in the post season before, pure clutch

Between Rollins, Pedro, and everyone else in that clubhouse the Phillies sure are doing a lot of talking. They need to start worrying about playing the game between the the white lines rather than what people in the media think. All the s***-talking they're doing is only going to make a World Series win even sweeter.

Unless the Yanks lose. Then it'd be hilarious.

I'm worried that the great Pedro may not be equal to this task. I'd hate to see him get humiliated, but I 'd like to see him drill Jorge in the middle of the back.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Excited' date=' but [b']nervous about tonight[/b].
And well you should be... The Phillies are a great ball club and are very capable of beating the Yankees. I expect the Phillies will hold the Yanks to 2-4 runs and I expect the Phillies to score at least 4-5. Just my prediction, though.:)

I dunno about that, I think the yanks take it in 6, should be a good series.
