So I guess Marte has surpassed Coke on the depth chart, and Joba, by default, is probably going to pass Hughes.

One, only one of them looked close and it was right at the edge of the strikezone. IMO, those should get called strikes 50% of the time, so I see no squeezing of one of them gets called a ball. The others were off the plate to my eye and pitch f/x confirms this.

 

Two, I don't care if they've been getting called strikes all postseason. The umps have been dicking up calls at the bases all postseason too, but that doesn't make either acceptable.
