Foolishness is thinking the Phils are a lesser team than the Angels.

If the Yanks had to sweat their balls off to beat the Angels, it will be a real clash of titans with the Phillies.

The whole "Oh teh Yanks are teh best ever" speech is hilarious.

The Yankees had to sweat their balls off to beat the Angels? We had a late lead in all 6 games and won 4 of them. If we had any offense with RISP, we would have swept them, and no game would have been close.

BTW, Yankees going to their 40th World Series. This will be the 7th World Series in my lifetime. This is f***ing awesome.

That being said, the Phillies are a great team. I think they are a better offensive team than the Angels, but I would take the Angels pitching staff all day long. The Phillies have one pitcher that scares me and a pen that is even less impressive than the Angels s***** pen. If we work pitchers and actually hit maybe .200+ with RISP, then this wont even be a series

Obviously, none of them were close games.

The Yanks simply wiped the floor with the Angels amirite?

You said that NY had to sweat their balls off to win the series. That comment assumes that there was a ton of difficulty in dispatching the Angels. Well, we won in 6, so it didnt go 7 games. Then, consider that we lost 2 games where we had a lead late. We won the first game by 3, the second game was really the only game in doubt late that went our way. Game 4 was won by 9 runs and Game 6 was won by 3. We were 13 runs better in the 6 game series, AND, we hit under .200 with RISP and had to be close to a record with LOB. I would argue that the series wasnt THAT close at all and that our offense was terribly uncharacteristic in that series and we still took it in 6. Like I said before, if we get similar pitching performances but our offense actually hits above the Mendoza line with RISP, then this wont be a series at all. Especially with NY having the home field. I do agree with you on the premise that our offense cannot play like it did vs the Angels. If we come out and leave double digit baserunners on base every game and hit under .200 with RISP, then we are probably going to the wire and quite possibly will lose the series. The Phillies are the better offensive team, so we need our offense to be up to snuff to keep up with them.

I dont make predictions aside from how long the series is gonna go. Especially since the yankees could just hide in a hole offensively at any time. But, I will say this. The Yankees should be the favorites in this series. And I think it goes 7 games.

Yankees in six.

I would like Yankees in 7, since I would make an utter killing on tickets.

What are you charging, about 10 grand a pop?

I think the Yankees should go Sabathia-Pettitte-Burnett-Sabathia-Gaudin-Pettitte-Sabathia.

If Sabathia is slotted to go three times, which I think the Yankees will do, they would then be in a situation where only one other starter would pitch twice. Considering how lefty dominant the Phillies' middle of the order is, I think that should be Pettitte. Also, in my opinion, he is throwing better than Burnett right now. After game three Burnett becomes another reliever, and, the way Hughes and Joba look right now, that might be very valuable.

I'm quite confident the Yankees pitch Sabathia three times (if the series goes seven games). I'm very curious to see if the Phillies do the same thing with Lee. Assuming Pedro pitches game two, that would actually mean Hamels would only pitch once in the series.

Game 1 of the world series should be really good cliff lee vs. CC sabathia, it was the 1st game ever at yankees stadium, I think Guardians won.
