What? Would you mind if A-Rod breaks his leg before the post-season? I don't - we have had our own injury problems.

I wouldn't cry about it but I dont wish for it to happen

Thats all I am saying. I said I won't mind but I don't wish him anything bad.

exactly. never hope for a guy's misfortune, but if injuries occur in the normal course of the season, so be it.

Think Yankee fans (in general) are dissapointed by the injuries to Manny or Youk?

This is a little weird. Yankees.com now has Toronto start Jesse Litsch. Not really sure at this point if Burnett is starting.

EDIT: Burnett had to go home for personal reasons 2.5 hours before game time. Jesse Litsch will start in his place. This is certainly a break for the Yankees.

Do the Yankees pay for guys to skip their series?

Clemens scratched from tonight's start:

Roger Clemens was scratched from his start Tuesday because of his strained hamstring.

Kei Igawa will face Tampa Bay in the Rocket's place tonight. This time the Yankees didn't announce when they'd next try Clemens. Odds are that he will get a start this weekend, allowing the Yankees to include him in their ALDS plans.

Igawa in Tampa Bay....this will be a 33-27 game.

Actually, it is a decent team for Igawa. He can be effectively wild, and at this point, it doesn't really matter anymore. All teams seem to be setting up for the stretch run in the post-season.

damon gets on and the yanks up 1-0

he,when hes playing as hes capable,is a gigantic piece of this teams offense

lets hope he has painful bone spurs and crotch rot down the stretch

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...there was a reason why Edwar was in the minors. Now no one is even chasing his changeup.

EDIT: He's awful. Absolutely awful.

a700, if you think Torre is making a serious push at the division then you should tune into this game. Also, he said once they clinch he is going to give A-Rod, Jeter, and Cano time off. He's not as dumb as you think.

At least the we can forget about seeing Edwar Ramirez or Brian Bruney on the postseason roster. Considering there really wouldn't be any situation where you would want them in the game, their seasons will likely end Sunday.

To be honest, Igawa would be more valuable simply because the Yankees only have one lefty who will be on the roster (Villone), and he wouldn't be considered a specialist.

Also, Ross Ohlendorf and Jose Veras will get some serious consideration.

Once the Yankees clinch the wild card I'll start a thread to discuss the postseason roster.

i too am a lover of the lefty

in fact,i can only think of 1 team in recent history who won it all without a lefty starter

Haha, I realize that, but I wasn't talking about using Igawa as a starter. He might be valuable simply to have out there so the other manager has to be at least aware of the fact that there are lefties in the pen.

But my only real point was that I would rather see him than Ramirez or Bruney.
