Matsui really is an awful outfielder. If they get into the playoffs I expect Joe to play Damon every game in left field. That limits what you can do with the bench, but Matsui cannot be out there in important games.

If the Yankees win the wild card I really hope that whoever they play chooses the eight day series. The Yankees simply do not have a deep enough bullpen to hold leads if their top guns aren't available to pitch.

Why? With one week to go, back 2.5 games in the division, with a firm hold on the wild card lead, it's a much better idea to prepare a little bit for the playoffs rather then to try and catch the leader.

You go for the division to get home field. The Yankees were able to make up 4 games pretty fast, no reason they can't believe they could do that again.

The Guardians and the Angels are both mulitple games ahead of the Yankees. Even if they win the division there is still a decent chance that they won't get homefield advantage.

It's on YES, but you're blacked out because of FOX's blackout time restrictions. On Saturday FOX has sole possession of baseball coverage from 1-5:30 or something, I think. Yeah, FOX sucks.
