The AL East race is over, and I must admit, I'm kinda glad. The worst case scenario would have been going down to the final day and losing, and maybe burning out some players. Expect to see kids as soon as it is officially clinched.

They have already been out. I am kinda peeved about last night. But then again' date=' having a fresh pen would be nice for now. I just want to make this thing official then move on to October.[/quote']

Agreed. Considering the Yankees have Wang going against a struggling pitcher, and the Tigers have to face Santana tonight I think the wild card race ends tonight one way or another.

1-0 D-Rays and Wang is having trouble keeping the ball on the ground.

The good news is that the Twins have scored four in the first. I understand that for all intents and purposes the Yankees are in the playoffs, but the sooner they clinch, the sooner they can start resting players and preparing for the playoffs.

Wang has a huge home/away split, as well as grass/turf split.

Away/turf is the worst for him. lol.

One of the main things that was completely ignored in the thread I made a few months back by the other Yankee fans here.

Think the Yanks hold him for Game 3 of the ALDS?

And both of Wang's potential first round starts would be on the road, eh?

Absolutely, I've maintained that I want Pettitte in game one. The only issue with that is Wang is not supposed to pitch again this year. The rotation is aligned more for Wang in game one and Pettitte in game three (Pettitte pitches this weekend). This is a big mistake in my opinion, and something that the Yankees could have prepared for weeks ago.

Once they make the playoffs I figured that I (or another Yankee fan), would create a thread to discuss the pitching rotation/roster plans for the playoffs.

Wang has been nothing but spectacular in the playoffs in his career and he has been our ace. He starts game 1. I like the idea of Pettitte and Moose at home.

Have you looked at Wang's home/away splits?

He's had two starts, one of which he lost (I know there were errors). In the other he didn't get through seven innings and gave up three runs. I guess we have different definitions of "spectacular". Wang is not nearly as good on the road as he is at home. This doesn't seem too complicated to me.

On top of that, what makes you think Clemens is going to be ready to start game two? I expect Mussina in game two and Clemens in game four.

EDIT: I still can't believe you called his postseason career "spectacular".

Wow, Johan has now walked three guys in one inning, including one with the bases loaded. I know his best pitch is a changeup, but on 3-2 with the bases loaded?

Why do teams always bend over in games where they could help the Yankees?!?!?!?!

Heeeeeere come the Tiggers!

Lol, the good news is that Johan is throwing the ball pretty well.

As for what Jacko said, if he was being serious, I would at least like to hear him try and justify that comment.

I was really hoping the Mariners would have to wear their road grays for this game but I guess it'd just be an inconvenience for the Guardians to have to carry an extra set of uniforms... although I guess it wouldn't be that bad for them.
