2007 Spring Training Game Thread

Quite a pissing contest we're now having CB. Yes, I know what you're talking about and it might be a good idea of getting your mind out of the sewer into the light of day. I have never met teenagers at Fenway but red blooded Red Sox fans who I have met on the various boards I post on.

 

Now start acting like Lincoln who birthdate you share and show some good cheer about the Red Sox and leave the other garbage out. Show some of that cheer by telling me what the hell happened to the game today. I can't get it anywhere, even the Dodger station out here.

Papelbon is really struggling to find the strike zone. What is that pitch that he keeps throwing about 2' off the plate, a 2-seamer?

That curve is showing some improvement. It's beyond a show-me pitch, and given the quality of his other stuff he can sneak it in there.

Moss is not much of a fielder. Every ball that I have seen hit to him this Spring he has played poorly.

Just a thought. We've had a lot of debate about whether Papelbon shoud be moved back to the closer role. We have been assuming that the reason for the move would be that the bullpen would be too weak without him. Another factor for consideartion could be that Papelbon might not be more than an average starter. I am hopeful and expect that he will be better than average, but I don't think he will be a top 5 starter in the AL like he was as a closer.

Piniero seems to be getting his act together as the Spring goes on.
