detroit has a pop if the tinman is out or pitches like he did last post season

same for mussina who got his tits lit up in game 5

however

if the tigers play like they have been

theyre done in 3

I'm taking the Tigers in 5 as well. People keep forgetting that the White Sox pulled this exact same trick last season. But the Tigers are more likeable

kenny rogers is still on their staff

he frightens me as a tiger supporter but hes 1 of 11

the yanks are hotter than a bulls dick and nothing slows down a hot team quicker than a staff that throws strikes

theyll need 5 runs a game to handle ny i fear

they need to be more patient than they have been and they need to have their composure in the hostile and wretched bronx atmosphere in that ballpark that smells like ass and armpit

The Tigers pretty much collapsed at the end of the season. They had a pretty comfortable lead on the Twins and White Sox not long ago and now they're the wild card. They lucked out that the Red Sox and White Sox also collapsed.

Like you said, the Yankees are hot. I hate to say this, and I hope to hell I'm wrong and the Tigers pull off an upset, but:

pitching wins in the post season most of the time

the way i see it the 2 best staffs in the al are in anaheim and chicago

the tigers have the 3rd best but have been reeling

then the yanks have the 2 most expensive in rj and moose and arguably the cy winner in wang tung...

they have some questions that have been answered by a dynamite offense

this offensive output generally dont carry into october

we shall see

The Tigers have been AWFUL for about 2 months now. That big lead they opened up in the first couple of months of the season allowed them to hang on to atleast the wild card. The 1 major question mark the Yankees have is Randy Johnson and they have him matched up against what might be the worst post season pitcher of all time in Kenny Rogers. The Yankees should sweep this series but I'll give the Tigers a game. Yankees in 4.

That's sick. I really mean that. Arod batting 6th...

yankees are the biggest favorite of the 8

-325 to beat detroit and -125 to win the a.l

minnesota is -175 to beat the a's

the pads and mets are smaller favorites to win in the n.l.

on the surface it seems difficult to wager against a team whos #9 hitter is hitting .342

looking under the surface

i see a tigers team that limped into october after getting swept by the royals

i think leyland will have them ready

the key is game 1

I like A-Rod batting 6th in Game 1. If he hit into a double play in the first inning of a 0-0 game, they'd start on him again. Batting 6th that won't be an issue. Good move by Torre.

I'm ridiculously superstitious, especially this year. Not predicting s***.
