well I did say before the playoffs that the bruins will go as far as Thomas does , its been the case so far , eventough there down 3-2 its not his fault ( boston have only scored 5 goals in the first 4 games ), if he keeps playing the way he has, I think the bruins will take this series

It seems like they've just been getting unfortunate at times. I think they've outplayed Montreal in every game so far, with the exception of game 1. Game 2 could have gone either way but a crap tripping penalty kind of put them in the hole in OT, obviously they won game 3, and game 4 it seemed like they kept putting pressure on Price and had numerous chances to score, but the puck just never slid in. Brisebois scored that one goal and it was good night. If Boston wins game 6, I think they take game 7 in Montreal too.

i watch this detroit team wiith dumbfounded amazement

i see 5 minute bursts of a symphony on ice and then 20 minutes of lethargic uninspired play...they were a huge favorite tonight at -270 as the odds makers knew that the public wouldnt go near nashville so they jack the line to scare off detroit money

not me

4th game in a row ive played these **********s and tonite may have taken 5 years off my life

i will be s***ing hot water tommorow due to their inability to bury a team they outshot 54-21 and needed a turnover inside the blue line in OT to get it done

hockey like baseball can be influenced by 1man in a big way

you never see these huge lines in bball unless you have huge pitching advantages against s*** teams say like beckett against a tampa waiver wire pickup...

petey was 400 1x against tampa in his time in boston

tonite dice was 2-1 against texas, world champs against last place will give you this

the canadiens were 240/100 thurs nite

these 2 sports are dog friendly with a hot goalie or pitcher making all the difference in the world

that kid from nashville was unreal and in game 6 detroit best bring some finishing power or theyre going back for a 7th

Rules, as well as Thomas has played, save for the 5-1 game, Price has been equally impressive. If he plays as well as he can, then it comes down to a game of breaks. As someone said earlier, just seems like the B's couldn't catch a break and find the back of the net.

What scares me is that, since I've been watching the Bruins religiously since the mid to late 70's, I've seen this scenario all too often and typically the B's are not able to MAKE their own breaks, whereas the Habs do.

I had a chance to get tix to tonight's game but have something I can't get out of tonight. Would have loved to be there...may even miss the first two periods on TV.

Out of curiosity, Kilo, why do you cheer for the Avs?

I haven't gotten to watch them in the playoffs yet. Makes me wish I still lived in Colorado sometimes -- or atleast got Versus. Watched my first playoff hockey in a good two or three years today -- Flyers vs. Capitals -- and I forgot how great playoff hockey is.

I used to be a huge Whalers fan. Once they left, I looked for another team to latch onto, and the Bruins never cut it for me.

I have no real reason why I root for the Avs. To be different? I dunno I love the way they played back 10 years ago when I was really into hockey.

Ahhh, okay... that's cool. They were a lot of fun to watch before the salary cap, that's for sure. I was just curious is all... on a Red Sox fan board, I'd have expected to be the only one to cheer for the Avalanche (or the Rockies, for that matter -- but I got Youk to back me there) -- though I don't really watch hockey.

And on the back of another great performance by Theodore, the Avalanche are into the second round.

Having a hot hand in the net come playoff time can take a team a long way, hopefully Theodore can stay hot.

I'm sorry but f*** the Avs for tonight, the Bruins just won a tremendous game 6 to force 7 in Montreal on Monday. Amazing atmosphere at the game tonight, so many up's and down's that coudlv'e resulted in a win for either team. Best hockey game of the playoffs so far IMO, or at least period (this period being the 3rd).

No f*** the Avs. f*** the Bruins. Though it is cute that you guys acknowledge the existence of your hockey team again.

HEY! Well, at least I've been relatively consistent posting in this thread over the past few seasons. I've also gone to quite a few games. There's just no one to post with... except for stocker back when he was here. Oh, rician blast too.

Anyways, that game was unbelievable. When the Bruins are playing well, there doesn't seem to be a team that they wouldn't be able to play with. Julien really knows what he's doing, and Kessell has come back and proved why he should have been playing the entire series. What an exciting third period. Any word on whether or not Bergeron will start? I heard the earliest he would be playing was game 7 of this series, so I wonder ...

Playoff hockey is incredible. The amount of hits seems to increase by at least 80% from the regular season, and the atmospheres are always electric.

See Red, do you follow the Avs closely at all? I ask because I don't know who on here actually still watches hockey. EDIT: Nevermind, just read your post above.

Crazy SH goal for Lidstrom from the red line.

yup and the wings win it 3-0 to win the series 4-2. Now babcock did you see how well puting Osgood in net worked out for you ? keep it like that

lol

Wings/Avs in the next round if San Jose wins their series. Should be interesting, they'll need Theodore to continue to be great.

I will fully admit that I am a band wagon Bruins fan because I have never really got into pro hockey. That being said I have found its pretty exciting and am really looking forward to tomorrow nights game 7.

Isn't Hasek like 45 years old?

almost , he's 43

it will be interesting to see what babcock decides to do in the next round , eventough its a no brainer that osgood should be in net . I have a feeling that he will put hasek in net again

I would if I could... when it was on ESPN, and especially when every Avs game was available for me to watch, I loved hockey. I cared about hockey more than I cared about football in some ways. The day I realized I was bored playing hockey is the day I quit with hockey -- watching and playing. It's kind of weird, looking back -- best days/nights of my life were spent playing huge pickup inline games at the park with about 10-15 friends everynight.

That said, I don't care about jumping on bandwagons... I wish more people would realize how great of a sport it is... but even though I don't care about the Avs the way I do the Nuggets, Sox, Broncos, or UConn basketball... nobody says f*** the Avs. Avs fans are some of the best fans in sports. :D

i would say there are a few people in quebec city that dont share your assessment of the avalanche and their fan base but anything that keeps the frog/snail eaters silent works for me

Look at the Avs attendance over the course of their first 10 or 11 seasons in Colorado... actually, I'll spare you the trouble of having to look it up for yourself...

The Colorado Avalanche have the NHL record for the longest consecutive attendance sell out with 487. The streak began on November 9, 1995, on the Avalanche's eighth regular season home game during the 1995–96 season, with an attendance of 16,061 at the McNichols Sports Arena versus the Dallas Stars. Almost 11 years later, it ended on October 16, 2006, after a reported attendance of 17,681, which is 326 under capacity at Pepsi Center, before a game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Avalanche recorded their 500th home sellout in their 515th game in Denver on January 20, 2007, against the Detroit Red Wings.

Yeah the Avs have an excellent fan base. I'll be honest...I'm pulling for Calgary to win Game 7 because I don't think the Avs match up well with Detroit (and I'd prefer delaying the matchup as late as possible).
